I was hoping that would take another DT in this class.  I think after a red shirt year and weight gain it looks like we have a guy that get after the QB in the inside.

Talk about a guy with upside. Here's a kid with great speed who has been splitting his time between two sports. Now that he'll be focused on football, and will be developed by three outstanding defensive line coaches, this is the kind of kid who can really become a player. He clearly is blessed with a lot of athleticism and a great frame. I love that he has the agility to play basketball and tight end in high school. These are the kinds of guys Hoke has developed throughout his career. An excellent pickup at a position where we need more talent and a deeper rotation. Welcome Willie!

Is this the first Glenville player M (hopeully will) sign since Woods?

I wonder if this means the beef (whatever it was) was squashed with Ginn?

.....highly rated kids, and it sucks to lose out on them, especially to schools like Ohio, this commitment was one I was hoping for.

The bulk of any good team is made up of the guys who are rated middle of the road, so to speak. Guys who just aren't highly rated for one reason or another, but can still play ball with the best of them. Mr. Willie Henry seems to be one of those guys, and I believe he will be a very good player for us in the future.

Welcome Willie. Here's to years of you planting opposing OL on their butts and opposing QBs and RBs 6 feet under.

on a DT this late in the game.  Just a few months back we had a 5-star in Tommy Schutt (sp?) wanting to commit to us and we tell him no thanks.  Now we are bringing in a 3-star out of the blue.  What gives?  Did the class not quite come together as planned?  Are we just hoping to get a in with Glenville?

Either way.....welcome Willie!  We are happy to have you.

The Schutt thing keeps coming up and up. But keep in mind that, despite his high rankings, and despite interest from so many other top-tier teams, M and ND flat rebuffed him. It's worth nothing that both these schools hold kids to different standards than do, say, OSU and PSU. So, although Schutt may well be a gifted athlete who's nice to his mother, perhaps M and ND had additional reasons to conclude that he just isn't an appropriate fit for their programs/universities.
