A hell of a fortnight in sports
In the last two weeks we have been treated to:
-The Detroit no-hitter overruled by an incompetent umpire and an even more feckless commissioner
-Stephen Strasburg wows DC and is baseball highlight of the night
-The Blackhawks end drought, win the Stanley Cup
-Celtics-Lakers part LXLVIII
-World Cup soccer (already one scoreless tie, with attendant hooligans/15 injured in a riot, plus unrelated sad death of Mandela's great grand-daughter in auto accident)
-If you count sailing as a sport, 14-year old sailorette lost and then found
-USC gets pounded by the NCAA
-Conference expansion head asplode
*Detroit Perfect Game.
And that's just in CFB alone.
I like the use of the word sailorette. One of the more inevitable stories in recent memory, but still nice to know she lived.
Michael Jordan's Hitler mustache.
it just feels great typing that.
-If you count sailing as a sport, 14-year old sailorette lost and then found
I do...and I wonder what kind of dumbass lets their tween daughter try and sail the Indian Ocean during the winter. Maybe they can send their toddler through the Drake Passage in a kayak.
