Have We Ever Done A MgoPregame Party?
"Hello - my name is MGrowold"
The wife and I are heading down to Naarlans for the game without our normal tailgate/seating buddies. I've been there a few times pre-Katrina and know that partying in the city is an absolute blast so I'm not worried about finding things to do. And, thanks to fellow boarder Jlvanals I now have an up-to-date and excellent list of recommended places to eat and more importantly...drink.
But I got to thinking who else was going down and have we ever had an MgoPregame party somewhere? This is Michigan's first significant Bowl Game in the MgoBlog era and I would image one that will be robustly attended by people as fanatical about Michigan football as we are. Has such a thing ever been attempted before and if so, how did it go?
What do you guys think about trying to put something like that together? I think it would be cool as hell to have a drink or two with my fellow MGobloggers pre-Sugar Bowl at one of the bars suggested by Jlvanals maybe Monday late afternoon or evening. Oh, and yes I know about the University sanctioned tailgate party. Great place for kids and people even older than I am but pretty quiet generally (at least the one pre Rose Bowl 2004 was) and I guessing this group is a bit more "enthusiastic" shall we say.
Anybody interested in trying to put something like this together?

My vote is for having it at Cat's Meow. Unfortunately Special K is controlling the karoke list all week and you can only sing Pop Evil, Journey and 7NA.

If I make it down I could arrange something with a good deal since I just wrapped up bartending there last year..

I was thinking the same thing, I posted an inquiry about the Michigan tailgate party here last week and due to the responses I believe that my buddy and I will pass. I think the Cat's Meow isn't to bad of an idea actually. I have been to there a few times and it wasn't to bad. At any location full of hundreds of fellow mgobloggers it would make for a great atmosphere. I especially think that Monday night would be a good idea. A lot of fans will be making it into town around then and ready for some partying. I will keep watching for more information.

I sent Brian an email asking him to consider putting something together (nothing that would cost him anything - just the "official MGoblog party HQ) if he was going down. I havent heard anything back so i dont know if he's not going or he didn't like the idea!

After the warm reception we got and tremendous time we had tailgating at the golf course for the (beat) Ohio game, we're definitely down to hang out again with fellow Mfans/Mgobloggers.
