Has anyone ever given you a Buckeye (or Spartan, etc.) gift, and what did you do with it?

Some hilarious responses in the Devin Gardner thread got me to thinking about people giving you opposing school gifts (because it's sooooooo funny- Ha...Ha), and if you did anything funny with it, oh, like pee on or give to your kid to crap in. (kudos!) My sister-in-law's relatives gave me an OSU skully cap. It now proudly sits upside down in my bathroom as a toilet paper cozy. Amy great stories to tell or repeat here?

My mom's best male friend (who is a really awesome guy except for growing up near Columbus as a huge OSU fan) gave me an Ohio State shirt after the 2006 edition of The Game. I burned it at a bonfire with friends the next week.

Bought be a Michigan State hockey jersey so I decided to add some "artistic" editing to it and in red Sharpie wrote BLOWS COCK below the words Michigan State Spartans. I have also been given an OSU 2002 Champions Shirt and lets just say it some how found it's way too close to the fire and it's now just soot in my fireplace.

On the flip side, my friend is a fan of both MSU and OSU (he grew up in Owosso & recently moved to Columbus, where his wife is from) and I gave him a gift once. It wasn't any Michigan gear or anything, but it was a zip-lock bag filled with diarrhea. On it said, "You suck for liking the teams that you like." Alright that's a lie. We're not really friends.

How someone is born in one area, moves to anothers and adopts their team? Could you imagine a Wolverine moving to OSU and MSU and becoming a fan? My cousin and I lived in East Lansing, right on the campus, for a year. We decked our entire student housing out in Maize and Blue. Go away sparty, parties in AA are a sidejob our amazing football team, not the main event.

As an unloader/loader and I would always get OSU college gear boxes and one of them had a O on the side in buckeye lettering and I was having a really off day so I thought what the hell, and punched a hole right in it. Did the same with Penguins championship gear in 2009. The customers would never know. It paid off loading for Pennsylvania trucks that week hahahahahahahahahahahaha

they know better. i wouldn't just burn the shirt or throw it away, i'd get them back. and i'll be a lot worse with that than buying them a t-shirt.

It wasnt so much what someone gave me but what they said. I live in ohio and my soon to be father in law said after Bo passed,"Just think Bo and Woody are together now just watching this game and smiling" to which I replied, "I doubt it, Michigan Men don't go to hell."

My first girlfriend got me an osu t-shirt for valentines day a week after we starting dating. She knew i was a Michigan fan but her being an OSU fan she was pretty dumb. I took permanent marker and crossed out the block O and replaced with sucks.

I went to the Clemson/Michigan tournament game last year in KC, as I lived in St. Louis at the time, so we made the drive. I was in line to take a leak during halftime next to this noticeably weird dude. We get up to the point where there is two people in front of us and he goes, "Heyyyyyyy buddddyyyy! Here's a gift for you." And he hands me an actual buckeye. I look at him funny for a second, ask myself why a Buckeye fan is here in the first place, and get back to the task at hand. We both move up to take a leak and he is right next to me. I step up, toss the Buckeye in the urinal, piss on it, and flush it down the toilet. The guy didn't say another word.

I live in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA and have been a Michigan fan since elementary school and Rick Leach was the starting QB. I'm not an alumnus, and I'm probaly the textbook definition of a "WalMart Wolverine", but after nearly 35 years of pulling for the school and buying the gear I make no apologies. A few years ago the Atlanta Thrashers (still in the NHL...honest) drafted a goaltender named Dave Caruso (not THAT Dave Caruso), who was raised in the same area as me (he was actually born in Queens,NY but his folks moved to Georgia when he was a kid because they have taste). Unfortunately, after a season or two in the USHL he decided to go to "school" at Ohio State, where he backstopped the Buckeyes to their first CCHA tournament championship since the Nixon administration. He never made it to the NHL, but the Thrashers' ECHL affiliate is located where I live so I got to watch him play at the "AA" level regularly. And as it turned out his Pop happened to take guitar lessons at the same music shop where I was buying a lot of my gear at the time and we became friends, and I made it known to him that I bled Maize & Blue. For my birthday that year I got from Ma and Pa Caruso the gag gift of an OSU baseball cap, which Dave Caruso (not THAT Dave Caruso) was more than happy to personalize "Happy Buckeye Birthday". For whatever reason, my wife decided to start wearing it to the ECHL games we had season tickets to (I sure as hell wasn't going to), and naturally the team started winning so I couldn't pry the damn thing off her. I don't advocate domestic violence (nor do I perform it), but under circumstances such as my own, I understand it. I'd never pulled so hard for my home team to lose as I did while my wife kept wearing that Christforsaken OSU ballcap to games. Once they lost, the cap was retired. Forever. I believe I ended up giving it to Goodwill or the Salvation Army when we moved from the apartment to the house where we live now. I made sure it didn't make the trip one way or the other. Anyway, this feels like confessional, which I am advised is good for the soul. Dave Caruso (not THAT Dave Caruso) is now playing in the NJ Devils organ-eye-zation, having bounced up and down between Lowell (Massachusetts) in the AHL and Trenton in the ECHL. He's a good guy and I like him, but that birthday gift is unfortunately what I'll remember most about him and his folks. And that was completely uncalled for.

My fiance came home from a work trip in Ohio and handed me a box of chocolate covered buckeyes. I quickly took the box 5 steps to the balcony and tossed them. She stared at me as if I had just committed the ultimate insult, when suddenly light dawned and she realized the error of her ways.

just had our baby shower a few weeks ago for our first child. my wife is a tOSU fan, but doesnt care about it as much as i do. she already agreed to let our daughter be a michigan fan. i think i should get that in writing. i warn people not to buy any such items from the opposite team. it went well, a few tOSU fans bought mich stuff for my daughter. however, my own mother thought it would be cute to buy both mich and tOSU onesies. i couldnt believe it! i havent done anything to them yet. was planning on sticking them in the back of the dresser or something so she will grow out of them before the chance of ever wearing them. will take suggestions on how too get ride of them!

My friend gave me an OSU travel coffee mug a while back. I keep it in my room and use if I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night I use that mug instead of going all the way to the bathroom.

Most of my friends know better than to bring any OSU stuff around, but I did get an MSU hat. I've used it for the UM/MSU game, opposite my UM hat on top of the entertainment center, just to make my MSU pals feel welcome. I've never worn it, in fact, I haven't seen it lately. I think one of my MSU friends stole it.

As an alum living in Cleveland, and one to wear my Maize & Blue proudly on my sleeve, some friends and family decided to have a little "fun" when we had our daughter 9 months ago. My wife's cousin, who lives near Columbus and is in grad school there, got her an OSU baby outfit. She didn't mean anything malicious by it, but it really annoyed me. Even my OSU alum friends thought that was crappy. We are going to donate it, so it doesn't go to waste. On the other hand, a co-worker got my daughter an OSU pacifier. When I opened the gift and looked at my co-worker quizically, she said that we shouldn't have any problems with the gift, because to us it should simply mean "OSU Sucks".

My grandma who is an msu fan because she got her masters there, got me an msu ornament and a yoyo. I found the saggyest branch on our christmas tree and put it on. It fell right to the floor and shattered. As for the yoyo, I took it and was fiddiling around with it to "try to figure it out" and let it fly. The round part went flying off the string and into our fireplace, yes there was a fire in it.

I've never been given anything, but I won a MSU golf towel and some logo golf balls at a scramble once. I hit the golf balls into the first water hazard I could find. I still use the towel, though - it does a perfectly adequate job of cleaning dirt, mud and other golf course **** off my clubs.

I found a wallet in a parking lot last year. I was going to send it to the owner and looked for an address. There was a tOSU student ID card and the leather had a block O burned into it. It ended up in the sewer. Suck it Todd Kendall! (probably not the actual name)
