Just a little pointer: If it's on yahoo, more than a couple hours old and it's about Michigan, you can be damn sure it's already been posted to the board. I made that mistake a couple days ago when I thought I was being sly about Herbie being forced to move out of CBus. I went back 9 pages on the board and still didn't see it so I assumed no one saw it, I assumed wrong.

M Born, I appreciate your post. I haven't seen it yet today and since it's relevant to Michigan sports I approve of your bringing it to my attention. Although I don't comment much,  I felt like I had to here because I'm so effin' tired of the self-righteous lurkers on this board who feel it necessary to tell people EVERY SINGLE TIME when they're not the first poster of a subject. Who the frick cares?! If YOU'VE seen it before or it's been on the board already then do everyone else a favor and look at something else rather than wasting my time wading through your comments in a vain attempt to get to statements of relevance.

The issue, I think, is that every unnecessary post of old information pushes potentially useful NEW information off the front page. Those of us who keep abreast of CFB news do not need to see them same topic repeated 8x. If you want to talk about the information theory aspect of it in detail, feel free to e-mail me @ [email protected] , but I doubt that is salient to the forum at large.

The point is that mgoblog is on the cutting edge of sports journalism and is a beautiful aggregator for michigan news. To coddle those who post repetitive topics or exceedingly unoriginal thoughts is to slow down the site by encouraging people to post whatever bullshit they find on espn.

This isn't a dig at people who DO post those things without knowing that they've already been seen and parsed by most of the community. This IS a dig at those who say "it's OK, champ, don't worry about what other people think," because that attitude is infinitely socially irresponsible in much the same way that telling your child that he is "unique" and "can be the president or an astronaut one day" is ultimately heartbreaking when your child finds out that their girlfriend is pregnant at 17 and the world (and life) does not wait for them.

Be kind to those who repost content (Eris knows that any search function is imprecise, especially given the non-standard way that we phrase topics) but do not coddle them, lest you seek to make MGoBlog some website full of broken hopes and broken 50 year-olds who think that we are still surprised by the fact that RR was replace by Brady Hoke.

I'm not here for your "original thoughts"- your little slants on human nature. I want facts. Wading through  your "original" thoughts is much more irritating than a double post to a link. And at least the OP here doesnt spew the resentment and divisiveness that you do.

I find good-faith mistakes much less damaging on here than a calculated attack on someone who may being trying to lend some moral support to a fellow fan of Michigan athletics who provided a link and not his thesis on life.

Don't know if your comment was about me or not, but I was simply trying to help the dude out. In no way did I attack or make the OP feel dumb for posting this a 4th time. I think the only reason people point it out is because it clogs up the board, maybe you should stick to not commenting if your gonna call other posters self-righteous.

Don't sweat the double post.  I don't even read posts unless they've been posted more than once.  that's how I know which ones are the important ones.

You know all of you people that are crying about "double posts" should probably realize that a lot of MICH fans have lives and can't tune into the mgoboard 24 hours a day like you schmucks. Just saying.
