NFL training camps start this week and Roy Roundtree and Leon Hall's Bengals will be making an appearance on HBO's almost-annual Hard Knocks series. The series starts August 6th at 10pm. http://www.hbo.com/hard-knocks/index.html . Hopefully they and other Wolverines put in good camp performances and are able to make their NFL rosters.
Hard Knocks 2013 - Cincinnati Bengals (Roy Roundtree and Leon Hall)
Is there a doubt about Hall making the roster? He started all 14 games played last year
I dont think so. He had some thumb injury which maybe is what the OP is referring to but that doesn't sound like its an issue any more
Nothing is guarenteed in the NFL but he should make the team. I was thinking more about Roy and the rest of the rookies.
You're a very thoughtful gentleman Ron
He gets injured a bit too often, but when healthy he's essentially at least a borderline Pro-Bowler. Unless his contract is crazy, I don't think there's much chance of him going anywhere (and if his contract was too crazy he'd already be gone).
The Bengals will be having a few Friday night practices at Paul Brown Stadium that are free to the public. It is a great time to get down close to the field and to take kids to get to see the players up close. The concessions are also open to get the 9$ beers and 10$ nachos.
I suspect Roundtree gets cut and then resigned to the practice roster. He isn't a high skill guy, but he has some room to improve on some things and is a guy that I see them probably keeping around to give a shot on the practice squad for a while. Maybe not on the Bengals roster necessarily, but somewhere.
Does that mean you're going to retire from mgoblog once you hit 420 points?
