Harbaugh Trolls SEC Just A Bit More
http://awfulannouncing.com/the-locker/jim-harbaugh-has-no-idea-who-paul…
Jim Harbaugh walks downstairs to the Prattville Marriott lobby dressed in a nice suit — hours after a shirtless photo went viral — with his jacket lapel sticking up.
A coach approaches, fixes his collar and tells him he was the talk of the Paul Finebaum Show that day. Finebaum, whose show is nationally syndicated and televised on the SEC Network, discussed Harbaugh’s appearance in Alabama with his legions of dedicated callers.
Harbaugh looks confused and shakes his head. He doesn’t know who Paul Finebaum is.
The coach continues, “He’s a radio show host.”
Again, nothing from Harbaugh.
“He’s a big deal down here in SEC country,” another coach chimes in.
Harbaugh nods. He asks about what they discussed and quickly moves on to something else. If the most popular radio show host in SEC country is talking about him, he doesn’t seem to care.
phyllis from mulga is going to be pissed
PAWWWWLLL!!
The only reason I know about Paul Finebaum is from seeing the fantastic Bama-homer rants of regular caller Phyllis from Mulga featured on ESPN. If any MGoBlog readers haven't heard Phyllis in action, I highly recommend you find the clips on YouTube -- you'll laugh so hard you'll have tears in your eyes. (Sometimes I wonder if Phyllis is on the show's payroll.)
Here's her epic rant againt Colin Cowherd ("Cow-turd"), a particular target of Phyllis's righteous wrath:
"The Dynasty is not over! Do you hear me, Cow-turd? Bama's dynasty has just begun! KISS MY BUTT! Roll Tide!!!"
And here she is going nuts after Bama lost to osu in the national semifinal in January:
you should triple blockquote that quote. twice ain't enough
you changed it to single blockquote? you're going the wrong way
Pittsburgh. H2P. G0D bless Narduzzi.

That's what I'm thinking.
I'm picturing this expression:

F U Harbaugh, I'm Paul Freaking Finebaum!
That's him either not knowing what the fuck you're talking about...OR...him not caring and trying to decide what's for dinner. Either way, it's as geniune as it could possibly be.
"But Pawwwwwlll...."
I don't know who Paul Finebaum is, either.
Is he well-known outside of the South?
I listened to sports radio all the time when I lived in Atlanta from 2001-2007 and I've never heard of Paul Finebaum. Maybe he hit it big after I moved?
in ATL though I left in 2012. Had only heard about PF around those last couple years there and only through friends who were Bama and Auburn grads or fans.
He is to the SEC what Mike Valenti is to Michigan State. Only more of a homer.
Might be because my hatred for the SEC is still less than it is for Sparty. Then again, I don't know how much time Finebaum spends on his show talking about topics that get banned here (and for good reason).
And weirdly, I don't think Finebaum would much care. Despite all the mouth-breathers he has call in on that show, he seems to largely be above the fray.
That show makes Buckeyes sound intelligent.
let's not start talking craxy.
it made me make a typo, and you a double post.
Bullshit. I don't see even one single sub.
If some Brian Cook guy did a pod cast about how Saban whines about satellite camps and is a hypocrite who oversigns but doesn't like giving those players other opportunites and a reporter mentioned it to him. He probably wouldn't care much either.
I've never heard of Paul Finebaum before this.
Finebaum does have a talk show on the SEC network. That show is syndicated on 27 Alabama radio stations and ten other stations in SEC country. He is a lot more visible than Brian.
That makes it even better that Harbaugh has no idea who he is.
In all fairness, Brian is a writer. So he's limited to reaching people who can read. I suspect this discounts a large majority of PF's audience.
I don't think he was trolling. Many people do not know who Paul Feinbaum is.

Holy Coke bottle glasses.
I bet if I jammed those things into a bottle return machine at Meijer, I'd get 20 cents.
And stay out of the Woolworths.
but internet pressure caused him to make good.
