Harbaugh Trolling the 49ers, Ushering Kaepernick Exit?

Submitted by VamosAzul on

Just based on how diabolical we have seen Harbaugh be... do you think he might be trolling the 49ers, York, and Baalke here by paving the road for Kaep out of Santa Clara? Leaving them in an even worse situation than they are already in? I like to think that is exactly what he is doing and I love it.

I think he is just giving a positive recommendation of a former player he liked. That doesn't seem much like trolling or ushering an exit. My past bosses have given me positive recommendations without trolling the company. Misleading title and not news. -1 nonexistent points.

Under Harbaugh, Kapernick beat Aaron Rodgers twice in the playoffs, smoked him at home on the road to the Super Bowl, and won on the road in Lambeau field.

Fast forward to now and he has been replaced by Blaine Gabbert (WOW) and has received little interest from around the league.

People like to reference Alex Smith and Andrew Luck as Harbaugh QB greatness, but what he did with Kap was just unreal.

people seem to be channeling their inability to downvote into paragraph-long posts pontificating about their disapproval of the OP.

Brian's silence on the situation has been deafening.  One would think given the amount of comments and threads on the subject he'd at least acknowledge that it happened and then say:

A. I don't give two shits about this

B. It's broke and I cant fix it

C. I'm migrating to a different platform so it makes no sense to try and fix this one

I had the exact same thought, word for word (at least your first sentence). I'm just really surprised that he hasn't addressed this in some way or another. Look at the number of comments on each thread lately, site traffic is definitely down. It's Brian's babby, he can do as he pleases... but this could bite him in the long run. People have short attention spans.

Umm, no. Harbaugh is not bitter and petty enought to continue "trolling" the 49ers over a year after his association with the team ended. He's just supporting a former player of his whom he respects and remains close to. Nothing more, nothing less.

Also, this has nothing to do with Michigan whatsoever, so I don't really care too much.

Sub-tweeting a former employer on Twitter is one thing. Praising an associate of the former employer in an effort to facilitate the associate's move to another organization and thereby surreptitiously sabatoge the former employer (which is what you claim is Harbaugh's true intent) is another. I don't think Harbaugh cares enough about the 49ers to go to such lengths.

Well, he's not a free agent until 2021 so Harbaugh's glowing evaluation would simply be raising his trade value, if anything.

You know, doing the exact opposite of what you're suggesting.

When Harbaugh says he'd recommend a QB...people should listen. Actually, Chip Kelly might be the best case scenario for Kaepernick, and it sounds like Chip is excited. But my money is on Baalke and York trading Kaep before the season just to show Chip who's in charge. No /s. I'm seriously expecting it.

You know, I never thought about it quite that way, that all the positive reviews and recommendations through the years might in fact be a form of trolling by previous employers or bosses. It kind of sounds....awkward when you think of it like that? I suppose I am looking for a tactful way to put the misreading of intent here.

Then again, I know me and it might still be trolling.

Here in Denver Kaepernick has been being talked about A LOT lately in terms of a hopeful trade to the Broncos and during the past few weeks in different ways, Harbaugh has gone out of his way to sing Kaep's praises - he's trying to help smooth over his image from last year under the Tomsula/York regime where Kaep seemed to fall apart.

I'd love to see him in Denver and surrounded by a very good staff and veteran roster - San Francisco was a complete dumpster fire after Harbaugh he Kaep bore the brunt of it.

We need a haiku thread to spice up the board a little bit. Except there's nothing to make haiku's about. Lots of OT threads So little to talk about And my points are gone.

But I am not sure that anyone is a good fit with the 49ers upper management. It is one of the three worst managed teams in the NFL.

I think all of this is in regards to the subterranean tweeting method...at least that's the word on the wire.
