Harbaugh Sighting in Flint Courtroom - Coach takes on clerk duties in probate court

Submitted by Wolverine In Iowa 68 on

This was posted on MLive and on my buddy's Facebook page.  Harbaugh showed up in Flint today to observe and take on some Clerk duties in probate court.

The lawyer mentioned in the article, Rick Hetherington, is a High School friend of mine who served as a police officer for 25 years before retiring and getting his law degree.  He posted the story and a pic of Coach on FB about the "Who's got it better than us" exchange.  Classic moment that made his day.

Guy keeps going.  I rhetorically asked my wife to guess who Harbaugh is inviting to be honarary captains this year (referring to the recent story about the Obamas).  She said "nothing you say will surprise me... he might be friends with absolutely anyone."

about Harbaugh always wanting to see the inside of a courtroom and all I could think of was 'hang our with the sparty football program'.  The ultimate troll job would be if he went to the Roseville District Courts...

I love that he's doing this and bringing awareness to legal access/justice issues.  Can't imagine any other coach having any other interest besides obsessively watching film  and chasing recruits. Maybe golf.

there's a bit of novelty around Harbaugh's involvement in these issues but I hope people can get past it and look closely at the problem at hand!

I hope Harbaugh sticks around for a long time and wins many championships but I'd like to see him run for office when he's finished! (don't take this as a political statement - I work in the realm of politics but I want to get good people from all walks of life to get involved at any level)

For those worried about Harbaugh leaving early for the NFL, I think you should update that train of thought to being worried about leaving for the judicial system. Much more evidence of that happening than the NFL concerns.

Of course. Because why not? The guy just has an infinite amount of energy.

Next thing you know, he's going to be the guy waving the checkered flag at the Daytona 500.

Flint Attorney Rick Hetherington, who appeared on a child support motion, on the way out asked: "Excuse me judge, but for clarification, I was wondering ... who has it better than us?"

I laughed, and yes, of course this would be something that Jim Harbaugh would just do - albeit for well-discussed reasons in previous articles, and especially after the trip to Capitol Hill last week. Can't wait until the next submission to what a couple people on Twitter have begun calling #GritWeek for Harbaugh.

The best reaction was some guy on reddit when the Pope photo came out - "whenever I repeat the latest Harbaugh news, I feel like I'm describing a dream I had."
