Harbaugh on the sidelines

Submitted by UMChick77 on

Maybe this has been done before but I don't recall a thread purely dedicated to the passion of Harbaugh on the sidelines coaching during a game.

We've all seen it happen....the firey blow ups, the handshakes of death, etc. It's going to happen.... the first bullshit call by the refs, the dumbass coach that mistakenly tries to take JH on. What's your favorite JH meltdown? You think he'll hold back any being at Michigan, the same,  or go even crazier? I remember when Bo would come unglued over the refs. I loved it (I was pretty young then but old enough to remember) I miss seeing a coach with passion out there.Glad to see that will change soon.

It's a slow news day. We need MOAR HARBAUGH!

Yeah according to most news outlets, Elway was there vetting Harbaugh for the HC job in Denver. Things didn't work out obviously as we all know Jim wound up in San Fran. Gotta think Elway was afraid of trying to contain that kind of enthusiasm. Who's got it better than us?

Why should he hold anything back?  I think it's safe to say that his dad and Bo were his role models in coaching.  I can't remember his dad's demeanor on the sideline, but Bo would lose it once in a while.

I'm really looking forward to seeing JMFH on the sidelines.

When his dad was coaching at WKU, probably early 2000's they came to Youngstown St to play. I had season tix and sat behind the small YSU student section on visitors side. The YSU students were verbally sparring with some WKU players and it got so bad some cops came over. Jack actually came over in the middle of the game, starts pointing at all the YSU students like he was going to come into the stands & kick all their a$$es. Reading his lips that's about what he said

This thread is awesome. Few years ago I defended Harbaugh like crazy while I got negged away. The reaction on this board that happened after Harbaugh shook Jim Shorts hand to hard was priceless.

In the second video at 6:10, check out the sequence in the game at Hawaii—Harbaugh is standing next to Bo quietly trying to signal for a TO while Bo is ripping the refs a new one.

it's just because I grew up watching Bo coach, and then saw him pacing the sideline while I was an undergrad, but I have really missed the intensity. Bo understood, and Harbaugh clearly understands, that the dialog with the officials has a game theory aspect to it: Bad call in my house? You're going to get an earful from me. And our fans. Every single time. I think that long term that creates a big disincentive to side with the other guys without good reason. Without bashing the outgoing leadership too much, there have been so many times the last four years where I've thought Coach Hoke should get angry about bad calls, especially in Michigan Stadium. Anyone who has faced a bad call, whether on the field, at work, whatever, appreciates and is motivated when their manager stands up for them. I think this team will appreciate the more strident version of coaching. And as a fan, it'll be refreshing.

He will definitely go more crazy on the Michigan sideline because of his love for Michigan.  I can't wait!   I mean think about your favorite pro sports team.  If they get screwed on a call you might have an opinion or might gripe about it.... but if Michigan gets a bad call I personally will get pissed and jump up and yell at the TV, scare the kids out of the room crazy style.  You wait until Jim Harbaugh feels he gets slighted.   Oh you wait....  How many days until football?

Over/Under on his first meltdown?

I say he makes it all the way through the first quarter of the UT game.  After that, it's all over.

Granted, Brian Kelly turns purple and is way more of a knob, but let's just keep it in the back of our minds how much shit we gave his implosions. I'd rather have a psychotic nut job on the sidelines than a clapping seal, but let's try not to be too big of hypocrites.
