Harbaugh . . . really??

Submitted by Chi-Blue on

Looks like Hoke was for sure the right guy for the job as Harbaugh looked like a complete tool after the game.

Do the exact same type of celebration, when the Lions win, and I think he showed very little class in the post game press conference. Tattling on Harbaugh for using profanities, was ridiculous. He was pissed he lost and acted immaturely, as did Harbaugh. I'm a bit confused about the shirt pull-up but the friendly back slap was innocent, as was the handshake. I think both are good coaches...and I wish Schwartz wouldn't have ran after him like a little kid....

<br>More importantly...the Lions lost...and that sucks.

Harbaugh lifting his shirt up running around and jumping, not even looking Schwartz in the eye and slapping his hand. JH is lucky he didnt catch one right in the jaw. I hope we see these bishes in the playoffs and just gut them.

Major Douche and I'm embarrassed for him.  Man, what a disappointing weekend.  Harbaugh topped it all off with his dickhead actions.  People are just disappointing!  Harbaugh needs to grow up!

like Schwartz was the tool.  Harbaugh was understandably excited, ran up and shook his hand and then gave him a friendly tap on the back.  Absolutely nothing wrong with that.  Unless you're a whiny d-bag who can't handle losing.  And... that's exactly what Schwartz acted like when he ran up to Harbaugh afterwards yelling and bumping him.  Like he was on the kindergarten playground.  No class.

Harbaugh can be a d-bag but he wasn't the d-bag today.

Many people here are Lions homers who can't  seem to see things fairly.

Your version of what happened is entertaining to say the least. Luckily there is video evidence that dismisses your delusion.

<br>He "ran up and shook his hand"? Ha. There is no civilization on earth that would consider Harbaugh's action a "handshake."

You've got to be kidding me. Harbaugh is kicking ass in the NFL. Nothing against Hoke, but Harbaugh would have kicked ass too. He slapped the guy on the back. Bfd.

This is phenomenal. Either side you take in this, you're being hypocritical. If Harbaugh was classless in celebrating, then a "Michigan Man" shows a complete lack of class one solitary day after you condemned MSU for celebrating a victory. If Schwartz was wrong for going after him, then you support a classless thug of a coach, as well as a thug player like Suh.

What say you, Wolverines? Pick your poison, and admit your hypocrisy.

This is one of those incidents that if the offending guy is YOUR guy, it's all good because you love his fire and enthusiasm.  If he's the opposition, he's a jackass.

I just watched the video on ESPN's "The Blitz" and I see nothing egregious about the handshake nor the back PAT (that was definitely not a slap).  Schwartz didn't appreciate Harb's demeanor and said something as Harbaugh was jogging off.  It's my guess that Harbaugh said "Fuck You" and kept running to his lockerroom.  Schwartz then came unglued.

Frankly I think Schwartz was a little butthurt and reacted accordingly.  Not saying Harbaugh should've done what he did, but Schwartz shouldn't have either.

First the Angels/Tigers issue and now this. Both blown way out of proportion and both I believe non-stories really.

Look, Harbaugh was super excited, and was definitely kinda a jackass running around after the game ended. Was he showing up the JS or the lions, or making a statement to Michigan? Hell no. He was a little too excited (he even admitted it in the postgame presser) and was a little rough with JS. Schwartz overreacted, as probably I would have done in the same situation as I, like Schwartz, hate losing and get really overreactive in those situations. Schwartz definitely should not have chased around Harbaugh, but until unless concrete comes out instead of "he said, she said," then this is a nonstory being overreacted to by probably the worst sports weekend in a long time in Detroit, and while Harbaugh probably was in the wrong by being overly animated, does not make him a tool or jackass. If he were trying to show up Schwartz, he would not have moved on after the overly enthuisiastic slap on the back.

By the way, not wanting to coach Michigan does not mean he turned his back on us, or that he isnt a Michigan Man. You cant blame the man for wanting to go to the NFL. If he had coached at any other college then I think a case could be made, but thats neither here nor there at the moment.

Of a man but a really, really good coach. Zero filter. It used to be that coaching was a place you can get away with being that way, even thrive because of it but in this day and age it's just not the case.
