I believe that's what one calls, in Harbaugh's words, "an enthusiasm unknown to mankind."
October 16th, 2011 at 4:54 PM ^
.....mankind, which apparently excludes Harbaugh, for he must know this enthusiasm. Ubermensch, perhaps? Was Nietzsche on to Harbaugh over a century before his birth?
October 16th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
lol @ him pulling up his sweater? no one wants to see that shit. Btw i m depressed as hell...wolverines, tigers, lions. Rough weekend.
October 16th, 2011 at 9:14 PM ^
yes, worst sports weekend in forever. I live in arkansas and am the only fan of any Mi sports teams here and everyone is giving me shit......tried to drink the pain away but it didn't work!
October 16th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
Fuck him.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:09 PM ^
I've always been a fan of his and was in favor of him taking over the hc job at Mich but him prancing around like he won the superbowl was a little absurd.
Atleast we have Jim Schwartz...where can I buy a jersey?
October 16th, 2011 at 5:50 PM ^
While Harbaugh is certainly capable of being a jackass, I don't really see here what he did to make Schwartz so upset, other than be a little overexuberant.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:58 PM ^
Schwartz totally over-reacted from what I saw. Unless Harbaugh said something really bad, I don't see how Schwartz was justified there.
October 16th, 2011 at 6:08 PM ^
I completely agree! What was Schwartz upset about...that he got beat in his own house?!?!? Aren't they the mighty Lions who have a tradition of winning...uh no, they are not, so Schwartz overreacted. He shook his hand, now move on. I didn't hear Schwartz complaining about protocol when his players are prancing all over the field after trying to take someone's head off. What a clown move by Schwartz.
October 16th, 2011 at 6:02 PM ^
It's still an overreaction by Schwartz, but less than if Harbaugh had just slapped his back and said, "Good game."
October 16th, 2011 at 4:54 PM ^
what exactly happened?
October 16th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
What happened after the game has nothing to do with the Mich coaching job. That's what JH does, he was fired up and Schwartz didn't take kindly to it. Hopefully a start to bitter Lions/49's rivalry!

<br>Tough Detroit sports weekend.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
LOL I knew he was going to try to draw attention to himself somehow, with him being back in the state. Go back to cali Jimmy boy, you turned your back on us twice.
PS Brady Hoke actually has some sportsmanship and doesn't try to beat up the opposing coach.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:55 PM ^
Really? You're going to criticize a coach because he was excited his team won a game on, the road, against a 5-0 team, in his first season as a coach? And what did he do that was so "toolish"? Had his sleeves rolled up? Jumped around a bit when he congratulated Schwartz at the end of the game? You're right, what a tool. He should have acted with class like Schwartz, by running after him after the situation was over and yelling "Fuck you."
October 16th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
that was a d-bag attempt at a handshake than a big SLAP on the back. he was a great player and now a great coach, but he is an arrogant a-hole. i had my own brush of d-bagness many years ago while he was with the bears.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
Are you blind MIchigan Man?? $10 says you didnt even watch the clip before you just shit out of your mouth. Seriously you are the only person to think that. He showed up JS on purpose to be a dick. JS has done the fist pump like right after we score a TD to win the game, not on the star in Dallas while shaking Jason Garretts had. JS was wrong to chase after him as well, grow a couple and go to the locker room. Nobody criticzes a coach for being excited about a win thats a dumbass thing to say. If Hoke would have done something similar to Brian Kelly after we beat ND he would also be wrong and toolish for that.
Somewhere in East Lansing there is another tool who totally agrees with your ideas on sportsmanship . . . Gholston. You need to change your name . . . NOW!
October 16th, 2011 at 5:08 PM ^
It is pretty "toolish" to be jumping up and down and swearing during your handshake with the other coach. Harbaugh might as well have just not shook his hand because he clearly didn't care about sportsmanship.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
it's pretty toolish to lift up your shirt and jump up and down as you go to shake the opposing coaches hand.
Also, an obscenity? Seriously?
Classy...
October 16th, 2011 at 5:38 PM ^
That is so pathetic. Yes I will criticize this douche for jumping around like he is a player, then running to the other coach and slapping his hand without shaking or saying good game. Absolute classless move. This incident has nothing to do with him not coming to Michigan, I agree. Still, the guy is a prick (even before this).
October 16th, 2011 at 8:40 PM ^
It was a childish move--in the NFL tradition and sportsmanship says you shake the other coaches hand and congrstulate him--not prance up, smack the other coach on the back and skip away while saying nothing. That is not to excuse Schwartz, he should have shaken his head and moved on and not followed Harbaugh. But that move by Harbaugh was supremely childish.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
Guy was excited... chill out. Thats not how you treat someone that was a great Michigan man.
You know after watching that video... whose the tool now? Certainly not Harbaugh.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:04 PM ^
Was....MH was right

October 16th, 2011 at 5:07 PM ^
Playing at Michigan doesn't give you carte blanche to act like a jackass without Michigan fans calling you out on it. A Michigan Man doesn't yell "YEA" and "shake" hands like a hard guy. This has nothing to do with Schwartz and everything to do with someone who was once a candidate to coach at Michigan.
Great coach? Absolutely.
Jackass? No doubt about it.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
You all want to talk about that petty act, but the reaction to it is far much worse. It would have took a real man to shrug it off.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
You really can't understand that Jim Schwartz has nothing to do with Michigan football?
Schwartz was classless too, doesn't excuse that behavior from an alum.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
Right, and we should all applaud Braylon for the way he's carried himself lately. If being a "Michigan man" means acting like a damn fool after you win, then the concept of it needs to die. If he was really a "Michigan man", he'd be coaching at UM right now. Brady Hoke is a Michigan man, Jim Harbaugh is a pompous asshole.
October 16th, 2011 at 7:58 PM ^
Harbaugh has done nothing but show himself to be an incredibly large tool.
Braylon has done nothing but show himself to be an incredibly large idiot.
Michigan alums...yes.
Michigan men...no.
Maybe Hart was right about Harbaugh.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:57 PM ^
But, really, this has very little to do with Michigan and/or Hoke, so let's save ourselves the petty slapfest over the coaching search.
Michigan is 6-1, the Niners are 5-1. Everybody found their place.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
Wow. I turned it off before this spectacle. Not sure what to think. Anyways, a pretty shitty weekend if you are a Detroit-area sports fan.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
But that guy is a total egomaniacal jackass. Someone needs to lay him out. Maybe then he will STFU.
October 16th, 2011 at 11:39 PM ^
If he really did use a vulgar word during the excited handshake, then i hope he gets fined. I would be more embarassed as a Lions fan over what their head coach did. I mean come on, chasing someone down to start a pushing fight? Grow up Jim Schwartz.
October 16th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
I believe Schwartz "started it" when he yelled at Harbaugh for trying to challange Detroit's first touchdown.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:38 PM ^
"He started it," said the 7 year old. Class means being the bigger man when someone acts like a jackass.
October 17th, 2011 at 3:18 PM ^
There was no class in Schwartz's response either, so I'm not sure what your point is.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:38 PM ^
"He started it," said the 7 year old. Class means being the bigger man when someone acts like a jackass.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
.......I was simply saying that Jim Schwartz instigated it and has started to gain a reputation for talking smack to opposing players and coaches (see the Jared Allen and Dez Bryant incidents).
I personally like it and like how he went after Harbaugh today. It's an attitude that resonates with the team and gives them a identity. However, he shouldn't complain when someone else gives him a taste of his own medicine.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:00 PM ^
Harbaugh's such an ass. I'm glad he's not here too.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
Harbaugh appears to be a great coach. Between this and his "What's your deal" with Carroll he also seems to be a giant prick.
October 16th, 2011 at 5:01 PM ^
October 16th, 2011 at 5:19 PM ^
BOO HOO!!
October 16th, 2011 at 5:24 PM ^
I'm not saying its OK for Schwartz to go bonkers and chase the guy down and try to start a brawl, but do you not see anything wrong with a coach greeting another with an obscenity after a game? You're probably not one of those people that thinks things like "sportsmanship", "not acting like an ass" and "doing the right thing" are important I guess.
October 16th, 2011 at 6:13 PM ^
Shit! Not an obsenity. What's next JH, an obscenity?
October 16th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
yes! Atta boy JIm. Nice little pat on the back. His teams in first place he's happy. Whaa whaa! Go Niners Go!
October 16th, 2011 at 5:05 PM ^
