Exactly, missing a few games is a lot better than a lost season!

Steve Lorenz already said Taco was going to be out next week. As long as he comes back healthy. I really hope Mone comes back okay.

Twitter is not Sam Webb's primary method of information dispersion.

Sam "gut feeling" Webb? Has he ever said something on his radio show or in an article that he didn't say "It's my gut feeling?"
Trust the coach on this one. He has no idea how long they'll be out. Sam's just shooting from the hip.

There is a distinct difference between Webb's informed estimates and "shooting from the hip."

Her sciatica always seemed to flare up when Uncle Earle was in town (usually to borrow money). I'll always remember her telling me, "Ya'll don't ever ignore a gut feel'n, ya hear."

It isn't his job to make up specifics. If he is guessing he should let everyone know as much.
September 5th, 2016 at 1:34 PM ^
He did, in fact. He said it was an estimate. But it's a specific (edit: and educated) estimate, compared to "working through something."
September 5th, 2016 at 12:29 PM ^
That would be great news if true. If they can come back for the Wisconsin game that would be awesome.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:36 PM ^
even if we only have Taco ready by then this is great news, IMO. Given Bryan's luck 3-4 weeks is a relief and knowing him he will be working to make sure it is 3 and not 4. I'm sure, since it is ligament related however, the trainers will be cautious with him.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:31 PM ^
for most of the Big Ten season, we'll be fine. Looks like Gary is going to get a lot more snaps as well as Marshall. That will be good, since it will give them both a lot of valuable experience before the stretch run later.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:39 PM ^
Wonder if we'll slide Gary to WDE in the interim.

Thanks. The comparision to Jehu makes me very uncomfortable I hope it is a lot less serious, because IIRC Jehu was on crutches and had a huge brace for most of the spring.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:28 PM ^
We should have Taco back by Wiscy and both back by MSU. In the mean time we get Hurst back and big Mike will get some more time at nose. We're gonna be just fine.

I think Onwenu ends up switching to DT full time due to getting more reps at that spot this season. It is also a position of need.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:41 PM ^
I'm certainly not opposed to having a 375 mountain at NT. A fast, violent mountain at that.
September 5th, 2016 at 12:40 PM ^
I think eventually he will land at guard for his days as a starter here. Now they can move him around to fit needs, which obviously NT is as of Saturday. But I think overall his highest ceiling and greatest utility in this offense is at guard. I think we will return Hurst and Mone next year, Gary can play any position on the line, and Dwumfour is already getting snaps so he should see a bigger role next fall as well. 350 lb guards that move well enough to pull like Mike does do not come around too often. I think Jim and Drevno being offensive minds, wanting to be able to run power with a Mack truck will get him on O ultimately.
But I wouldn't hate having a Wilfork on the DL either.

I'd have thought they were the same, but thanks for clarifying your take.

I'd like to see it as Wormley/Hurst/Glasgow/Gary on running downs and then a Gary/Wormley/Hurst/Winovich or Marshall package for passing downs.
We ran way more 30 front than I was anticipating seeing Saturday, however. So you could see more of Wormley/Glasgow/Gary with a heavy rotation of Hurst with Gary and Wormley interchangeable at the two end spots. With UCF also running an up-tempo spread I don't think we will run less 30 fronts this week.
