The Harbaugh Prepares

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on

Coach Harbaugh just dropped this gem on Twitter:

"Meritocracy- Process to determine an elite Team. Progress determined by Talent, Execution & Effort to ratchet up in Bo's house Feb 24th 2015"

I cannot wait.

ALL HARBAUGH, ALL THE TIME.

Love it. I have a feeling that the last staff was not that great at identifying who their best players were, especially on the offensive side of the ball. I think that'll change.

Was this truly the impression of the players gave off?  I always thought it was cop-out by a woefully inefficient coaching staff that didn't know how to get the most out of its players.

I couldn't be mad at the stake incident and some of the players mouthing off if the coaches were not doing a good job preparing and motivating them.

it looked to me that the players played with a sense of entitlement under Hoke and even before.  That just showing up and "being Michigan" was an end in itself.  The legends jerseys did not help thing, nor did the air shows.  Who needs to actually play in a big game, we will just create one. Look, planes!!

Is the lazy accusation made every time things don't work out with a coach. It may be right every once in a while, but I didn't see any indications of it under Hoke. By contrast, it's really easy to see where inane coaching in terms of scheme and preparation was to blame. So I don't see any need to speculate about lack of effort in addition.

I kind of agree.  For every poster who points to Funchess as an example of how Hoke was running Club Med in Schembechler Hall, I would point to Devin Gardner who played like a warrior through all kinds of injuries during his time there.

I never got the sense players were not playing as best they could.  I repeatedly got the sense that the schemes were lousy, the adjustments were non-existant, and the offense in particular was incoherent.  (I suppose there may have been a couple exceptions, but overall the team played hard.)

will they have to rotate out after the first 3 plays of the game though if someone else sweated equally during practice?

itll be nice to have "starters" again - especially since harbaughs very open about his favorites being the playmakers
