This is like the reverse of yesterday.
Now he's appearing at someone's concert that no one people my age or younger know. I've heard of this guy, but I haven't heard his music.
That's like never hearing of "Thriller" or "Hard Days Night".
I've probably heard some of it but I just don't even think of who it's by.
Those are two of the most popular songs in music history by two of the greatest musical acts in music history. It astounds that you don't know who created those songs.
That's akin to not knowing who the first president of the USA was.
Are you talking about Michael Jackson's song Thriller? I've heard that a million times.

What role did this guy have in Thriller? Did he write it? Produce it? I don't know. He sure as hell didn't sing it.
I bet they were on the ole Reefer at this time.
If I'm not mistaken this is around the time they told the story of smoking some weed right before they had to meet the Queen.

the most famous of drug related songs would be Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. The letters in Caps. LSD would suggest that they may have dabbled with other drugs beside weed.

For real. They only know what they know.
Madonna, went to the University of Michigan. She started out lower midddle class and earned everything she ever got. Miley went to the "Univeristy of Daddy's Connections." Madonna had a lot of input into her choreography. Miley is "plug and play."
Please don't equate the two.
My kids are 7 and 9 and they sure as hell know who the Beatles are and routinely request some of their songs off of my Ipod. Shame on the parents who don't introduce musical legends to their kids.
My son is 22 and owns all 13 Beatles studio albums on CD and vinyl. Good music is timeless.

if they knew who Bruce Springsteen is. It's a yes from the 15 and 13 year old. The 10 year old thought I said "Sam Bernstein". It was a yes on Bernstein, no on Springsteen from him.
IMHO, you should know Springsteen.
edit: just drove kids to school- he has his own XM channel!! E street radio.

Springsteen was rockin down the House back in Harbaugh's school days at Michigan, but he's been around even longer. Not recognizing Springsteen's name, music or why Harbaugh might have an interest based on his own Michigan experience, means you have missed the boat on on a HOF icon who still puts on marathon concerts for his loyal audience.
How about the Piano Man, Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison, heard of them and their music?
There is no way this is true.
Nor can you say young people don't know Springsteen. There's a world out there outside hip-hop, and many, many youngsters indeed are tapped into it.

Well, he has probably heard some of his song but never bothered to find out who the artist was. I, for example, don't really know who Bruce Springstein is. I've heard his name many times and probably heard some of his song but I wouldn't be able to match them to him or him to them. If our parents didn't listen to him, we most likely wouldn't either. I mean, you people are alive right now and didn't know what Migos was but we're supposed to know about a musician who was popular before we were alive?
