Harbaugh on Partridge

Submitted by Clarence Boddicker on

He's a fan. The money quotes:

"'He's doing an amazing job. If I had one more spot, another spot on the coaching staff, it would be Chris Partridge,' Harbaugh said Tuesday evening. 'I've really been that impressed with him as a coach.'"

"'You don't know what (might) happen with the hiring cycles, once the pro hiring cycles begin,' he said. 'But it can't be soon enough to get Chris Partridge as a full-time coach. I've been that impressed with him.'"

"'He's a shining star, he's a rising superstar in this profession,' Harbaugh said. 'We'll find (something).'"

This sounds positive but is it?

I hope he stays with us. Make it happen Jimmy- Durkin is lurking and all he needs to do is see this and he will offer him.

Note: I really like Durkin but I feel after all I am reading he is a bit ungrateful to what our coach had done for him. Prior talks Durkin came after him and I see him offering some crazy coaching position.

Not knocking Jackson bc I think he's a great coach. He's sharp, he knows his stuff, he's got solid resume, he played the game and played it well at highest levels (which players really appreciate), he obviously works hard and has respect and trust of harbaugh, he knows how to teach and communicate the game and relate to his players, etc. But Zordich is an excellent coach too and a rock solid dude - he matches Jackson in pretty much all those areas except he started coaching in college / NFL 4-5 years after Jackson. They're both great coaches and I'd love to see both remain at M - to thr point where not sure I could pick one or the other if it were an either or type scenario. Jackson is prob the more popular name on the market and could get decent offers but they'd be ok with Zordich handling secondary

I'm not convinced he stays after NSD.  He certainly could go back to the recruiting coordinator roll or take over if a position coach leaves, but if a spot doesn't open I wonder if he will keep his current job for another year or go somewhere else as a coach.

Alright, thank you. I was thinking about responding with a similar thing, but now that you have already made note of it, I won't sound as dickish. I've had a question on this particular issue for quite some time. I've known multiple people who consistently mess this up and these people are otherwise very intelligent but also are almost exclusively from the Bay City- Saginaw area, is is a regional issue? Or just coincidental? Being from west Michigan, I've realized that a very common grammatical error is using "bring" or "brought" instead of "take". I don't know why, but "seen" just gives me the willies.
