I refuse to believe "inside sources" unless they were sitting on the toilet in the men's room and overheard Jim Hackett and Mike DeBord discussing what Harbaugh was having for lunch on his private jet ride to Ann Arbor.

That's oddly specific... Are you saying that you overheard Jim Hackett and Mike DeBord discussing what Harbough was having for lunch on his private jet ride to Ann Arbor?!?

Hey guys! I have an insider source that just said something that sounds really promising!!

in opposite stalls in the men's room.  Unfortunately, my source wasn't able to stick around to hear what Hackett and Debord were discussing.  Those two were engaged in a serious game of Battle Shits.

The on caveat that I have heard is that this could possibly all be coming from Jack Harbaugh. If he is the single source for much of the inside information people are worried that it could be due to his desire to see Jim coach Michigan. So take that FWIW but I won't let it hamper my optimism.

I think it's only a bad thing because it's what Jack wants to happen, not for sure what JIm wants. The same could be said for the analogy you used, often times (Malik) the parents want one thing so badly they manipulate the situation and it doesn't get anyone what they want, and everyone gets pissed.

I read an article before that discussed the Harbaugh family. Apparently Jim and John both regularly consult with their dad for coaching and life advice (even regularly sending him game film). Word also is that the dad refuses to push an agenda onto either son but forces them to figure out for themselves what to do. At least that's how it supposedly went down for Jim's Stanford move. My impression from those family dynamics is that if Jack is saying something about Jim's intentions then it probably is what it purports to be and is not merely some reflection of Jack's own personal agenda.
