Harbaugh Fettig: Class of 2034
Didn't see this anywhere...

Gregg Fettig and his wife, Lani, were looking for a match while deciding the name of their fourth child.
Their oldest son was named Hogan after famed wrestler Hulk Hogan. Their middle boys were named Colt and Case, after the McCoy brothers who were Texas quarterbacks. Lani wanted another "H" sports name to match Hogan.
“I was brainstorming and said, ‘What about Harbaugh?’ and she said, ‘I love it,’ ” Gregg Fettig said. “So we had to kind of keep it from the family. Obviously, we grew up Michigan fans. That’s how the origin happened.
“I don’t know if my kids will play football but you want good, aspiring football names. So when you hear a tackle at a football game, Harbaugh Fettig sounds pretty tough.”
that's for sure.
related to Jeff Fettig. I like this better, though.
that 'northern michigan mgouser'. well, i can appreciate a fourth son and all, but he still hasn't caught us just yet. and then there are daughters to be blessed with too.
Neg me all you want but I know some of you MGoPosters agree, while this is a cute story, this is also weird. Naming your child after a coach or after ESPN or something like that is just plain... Not normal. Name your dog, your cat, anything after a sports figure - sure why not. Hell, even give the kid the same first two names as Jim, but going this specific is very odd behavior.
It is unusual but its not like the kid is named La-a. (pronounced luh-dash-uh)
Completely agree.
Don't understand saddling your kid with this type of name.

or so I'm told. I don't have a middle name.
The problem I see is that when people get tired of calling him Harbaugh, they will shorten it to "Harby," and that's just wrong.

But I bet nobody named their kid after George's last name. Oh... wait.
unless their kids are Rob or Jon or maybe Bran(don). But anyone naming their kids Cersei or Tyrion or Daenarys is just plain cruel (and/or oblivious/stupid).
Try to tell that to my children Jerry Sandusky Murders, Art Briles Murders, JoePa Murders, and little Kathie Klages Murders.
Those are names that will stand the test of time. Book it.

you had a kid named Pryor Murders.
My sons Ellerbe, Rodriguez and Hoke don't know what you're talking about.
Congrats...we expect the names Drevno or Brown k thx
it would be utter chaos. i'm afraid though that after the good humor and snark it could turn ugly, so i won't post that. tempting though...
i couldn't name a child something like that, but a bird dog on the other hand, most definitely. named two of them after family members who were michigan grads from the 1800's. bird dog is one step down from child. important step, but only one...
beautiful expected child? makes a difference in name suggestions.
and mrs. brutus should already be on board with the whole michigan thing, or you guys need to have a sit down....

As someone who has had a step-relative (into the family through a sibling's marriage) just recently go from "outboard" to "inboard" surgically, I can assure you that it's much easier to determine the sex of a child (biological matter and 99.9% of the time an easy call) than the gender of a child (social construct). The gender thing with my step-relative didn't get sorted out until early adulthood. I'm still educating myself about these things, so probably being a bit clumsy on the topic.*
Bottom line is the Brutus family may not know the gender of their child for a while yet! Which is why "Bo" is a very safe name - works equally well for Schembechlers and Dereks.
*For example, it turns out the correct technical term for the procedure is not actually "outboard -> inboard" surgery but gender-reassignment surgery. Who knew?
Blaize is another Michigan-themed name.
Blue+Maize
I think about being a dad pretty much every day so I come up with these things.

Can be a boy or a girls name these days.
Source: me. I just made it up.
There was that Pascal guy too. Pretty sure WD didn't make it up.
Edit: Different spelling, but still.
My buddy's wife worked with a guy they call Blaze. However, I think his nickname has more to do with his recreational habit than it does with any allegiance to a certain university.
FWIW, I almost had my ex-wife on board with the name Jalen when our first son was born.

Name your child that and they will be destined to become an American Gladiator.

My daughter is 6 months old, her name is Adalyn Arbor. My wife was totally cool with naming her after a place we both love.

Logan for our second boy, because obviously that is the name of Wolverine...
Mug Constanza. Or ketchup? Pretty name for a girl.
To the story, Harbaugh is a great coach, but a horrible first name. How about Jim?
As soon as I came of age, I'd be in the courthouse signing some new name documents.

Harbaugh would be cool. Not sure I would name a kid Harbaugh. #gotcarriedaway.

If this kid doesn't get in or chooses not to go to Michigan...
