there was something about free-will in there, institutional management of values v. personal responsibility and choice, societies idea of "rehabilitation," etc.

I am aware of the themes, but certainly not fully aware.

When you agree to take a picture with your car dealer out in front of the University of Michigan football practice facility, with the new car right behind you, I think you've waived any right to confidentiality regarding the deal.  Just a guess.

Lloyd drove some kind of small SUV, I think it was an Acura or Lexus. I know because he almost ran me over with it when I was walking through the Crisler lot on my way to a basketball game when I was in school. I was mad at first, but when I realized it was him, I went into a sort of mad wave that made me look like an idiot.

Bonus story: I was driving to the Dekers banquet my senior year, they invited all the Hockey Band seniors, and as I was driving down State Street to get to the hotel, I look in my rearview mirror and there's Red driving right behind me. Followed me all the way there. That stare permeates mirrors.

The game that old man decided to let it all hang out. Gosh darn it, why couldn't we have had that playbook for the previous 10 years?

As great as that game was to watch, I was also irritated the whole time, thinking about what could have been. Instead of winning it all once and doing very well the rest, UM maybe could have owned a decade, like Texas or USC has.

I know that after he retired he had a Lexus. I remember being in the band waiting to enter the stadium in 2008 or 2009 and his parking space was right in front of the tunnel. We watched him park once and cheered when he maneuvered expertly into not much space (the cars on each side were close to the line) and he gave a goofy smile and wave.

Just before moving from MI to CA, I traded my dad my Escort for our family's TransSport Montana (which was probably a wash, price-wise) so I could get all my stuff out there.  The coolest part is I couldn't afford to buy a new car for a while so I was a 23 year old living in LA driving a Montana minivan.
