Harbaugh in Downtown Ann Arbor (photos)

These photos have been circulating on twitter. The second one looks like it's at Pizza House.

IN KHAKIS

Pretty sure that's Jim #Harbaugh sitting three tables over from me and my family at Knight's in downtown Ann Arbor.

Pretty awesome. I get the feeling that Harbaugh is about as genuine as it gets. Nothing about the $8 khakis is an act to appeal to the masses. Looking at the pictures, Harbaugh has the appearance of a semi awkward Midwesterner, and probably was a bit uncomfortable in California.

How much time have you spent in the Menlo/Atherton area where he lived? I've never been anywhere 'You are what you drive' applies more, and Harbaugh drove a beat up Chevy Silverado with a God Bless America bumber sticker. He lived like a contractor in a $6 million house.

Yes and no ...

It's true -- I've seen numerous instances of (say) 5-series BMWs parked outside so-so apartment complexes in Menlo Park. As well, Atherton looks like a foreign car theme park at times.

There's lots of understatement in the area, too. (It's hard to be ostentatious when your $1M house is basically a dressed-up Midwestern rancher.)

I think Los Angeles is a little more "You are what you drive" than Sili Valley.

This. I have friends that lived in Encino, and one of them told my wife and I that he received a raise from his boss. The raise wasn't a reward for his work; but so he could go buy a new car because their Grand Am he drove was a bad look for business.

as I've been worrying, ever since he posted those pics in the OP, that WD might set out for downtown Ann Arbor to try tracking down our coach.

Please be on the lookout for WD in downtown Ann Arbor.  He's armed with cameras and his camera-phone and on a mission to get a selfie with Coach Harbaugh.
