don't care about what a high school coach has to say.  And I know NCAA rulemakers make all sorts of asinine decisions and rules.   But in a more perfect world, I wish they would read/hear what is being said by Cedar Grove (GA) High School Coach Jimmy Smith in this short article linked by the OP.

These satellite camps that HARBAUGH is running are nothing but good for kids who just need exposure and an opportunity.  Even though most of them will never make a living from football by playing on Sunday , it gives many, many of them a shot at getting an athletic scholarship and much more importantly a free college education.

But back to reality, the NCAA can and probably will f*** these kids over and ban satellite camps,  primarily at the urging of the equally inept  leadership of ADs and coaches from the SEC  and ACC , "leaders" who are more intent on protecting their territory than helping kids get opportunities.  The tail (SEC) once again wagging the dog (NCAA) .

I think it's great if Harbaugh is making connections with young/established/good coaches in these fertile recruiting areas. Not just the school that's hosting, but neighboring coaches. You're going to have to find new coaches, new analysts, need to make connections to coaches for future camps or whatever. THe kids get exposure too. This is a great resource. It's a mutually beneficial process.

The NCAA is totally going to outlaw this.

I went last year in Houston. watched the whole camp. at the end, I got to go down on the field and was told "coach will be available when the allotted time ends." he was. I met durkin, drevno, and mattison. pictures with all of them. then coach Harbaugh came over, smiled, and let me get 2 pictures with him. it was awesome. I thanked him for coming home and told him that because of him, I finally had hope on Saturdays again. that's my cool sorry bro. it was awesome.

Let's all slow down the rhetoric. I keep seeing Harbaugh "running" these camps. Short of ensuring the lineup doesn't include flogging and racism, he's showing up to evaluate a handful of players, build notoriety and shake hands/kiss babies. He's not going into areas and revolutionizing via clinics - he's getting free 1:1 interactions with top talent in a performance atmosphere, which caters to an ego more than a visit to the hs between periods

I went to the camp at USF last summer. We were on the field the whole time. Michigan fans everywhere. Snapped a few pics. Mattison didn't know how to work an iPhone. Funny stuff.
