On Harbaugh, Brandon Redux
I was re-reading a post Brian made almost two years ago in the depressing last season of Hoke and Brandon and I thought I would re-post it as a reminder of how far the program and the fanbase has come. It is easy to forget, as we contemplate our current embarrassment of riches (coaching, roster talent and attitude), how dark those days were.

Is that how the term "pussy cat" came to be?

Fishy smell.
September 8th, 2016 at 8:00 AM ^
I'll say it again.
It should not smell like fish, at all. What the hell you guys?

There are only two things that smell like a tuna boat... and one of them is a tuna boat.

Being from Michigan and now living in Kentucky I can report with full accuracy that the words
Why
Bye
Hi
are all pronounced like this clip.
Wah
Bah
Ha

September 7th, 2016 at 9:17 PM ^
Fuck then, indeed!

Or, whenever. I'm flexible.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:30 PM ^
That article is so old that Oakland still really was in play.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:44 PM ^
Brady Hoke wasn't evil, just out matched and unable to manage talent or see when people weren't doing their job. Dave Brandon, on the other hand is a self-absorbed, egotistical sociopath, a terrible human being who is only good at running organizations into the ground. UM should rip his name off of everything that bears his name around the university.
September 7th, 2016 at 10:19 PM ^
This is 100% correct.
September 7th, 2016 at 10:41 PM ^
+1 to you sir.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:14 PM ^
Um. Ew? Get this shit out of here...

without those dark days, we wouldn't have harbaugh or be what we are today. without harbaugh first going to the nfl, his time here may have been short.
now enjoy your negs

There's a lot of archaeologists on this site.
They like digging up the past...
September 7th, 2016 at 9:50 PM ^
You didn't have to explain it.
September 7th, 2016 at 10:12 PM ^
Idk, there's a fair share of dumbasses too.
September 7th, 2016 at 11:01 PM ^
Perhaps, but I did anyway.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:16 PM ^
Great timing! I just dusted off the old lettermans jacket to remind myself of other past fails!
September 7th, 2016 at 9:16 PM ^
I'd prefer to just forget this ever happened. Kthanksbye

that was funny.

The Hoke/Brandon era triggers me. Does this site have a safe space to go to where I can recuperate my thoughts and emotions?

We're all about safe spaces here on mgoblog

I can't believe it was only 4 comments in before someone made the "Harbaugh's wife won't let him leave the Bay Area" assertion.

September 7th, 2016 at 9:25 PM ^
Wow what a useless post....why would u even think about putting this up.
"It is easy to forget"
Ya! We're trying to forget...that's the point.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:29 PM ^
because in re-reading the post, it magnified my appreciation of our current program. I thought other members might feel the same way. You and many others disagree and would prefer to forget the past. I get that and understand it, I just have a different viewpoint.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:39 PM ^
I'm okay with it. There is something satisfying about looking back at a time when there was so much uncertainty, as though we were teetering on the edge of a cliff, only to have had it work out almost perfectly in the long run.
Besides, as bad memories go it could have been worse. Like this
September 7th, 2016 at 10:35 PM ^
Appreciate every single game this season. We're lucky as fuck to be where we are now.
Also speaking of cliffs, I used to date a girl who thought the expression was to "take it for granite". Good times, amirite?
September 7th, 2016 at 10:36 PM ^
Fuck giving DB any credit for my appreciation of this season. I am fully capable of appreciating it without thinking about that DoucheBag.
September 7th, 2016 at 9:30 PM ^
This has nothing to do with this post. It was at the top of the threads so I said "fuck it". Utah is our arch nemesis. Fuck OSU. Fuck MSU. Fuck Rutgers, Illinois and fuck carrots. They've beaten all three of UM's last coaches.
Fuck a Ute.
Cue Fred Gwynne.

It's my turn.

I for one will not hate on you for this post. It's been a huge journey the past two years, for the football team and for myself personally. And I like reminiscing about different times. It wasn't long ago that things were very bad with this team.
Harbaugh.
