Wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I am thankful for this blog, faith, family, being blessed by Char Carr's life, Jim Harbaugh, the return of Michigan football.

Happy Thanksgiving! Beat the Bucks!

Yes! Happy Thanksgiving! This is a great blog with many valued contributors. Brian and staff are awesome but the user generated content is great as well. This place makes me laugh everyday. It may be a gif, a snarky comment, or a typo that leads to a random tangent. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

What a difference a year makes!  Looking forward to turkey and to The Game this year.  First year as a season ticket holder.  I have been to every home game this year except the NW game.  I've been enjoying Michigan football this year; something I haven't been able to do with any consistency the last few years.

I turned on the Ohio State game last year with the thought that maybe we'd pull something out of our butt.  Maybe there would be some magic in the tank to pull off an upset.  I remember being part of many discussions as to whether a win against Ohio State would save Hoke's job.  Brandon had been fired (forced to resign whatever) the month before.  I remember people wishing that we would lose The Game so that it would assure us Hoke would get fired.  Holy crap.  Here's Brian from last year's Ohio State preview -

"Uh, Ohio State is going to win the division and probably the league. They have put hurtings on everyone they've faced after the VT game except Penn State, when JT Barrett was overwhelmed by a legit-elite D, and Indiana, when they got all of the bad luck they might have deployed against M out of their system. And then they put up  four straight touchdowns to run away with that game anyway."

I'm thankful that I'll get a day to spend with family and friends and get to enjoy some great food. Hope all of you get to do the same.

I'm also thankful to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Happy thanksgiving to all fellow mgobloggers. Although NFL rooting interests vary on the board, I am thankful the Lions have a chance to knock around the Eagles today.

And a Michigan victory on Saturday of course

As President, on October 3, 1789, George Washington made the following proclamation and created the first Thanksgiving Day designated by the national government of the United States of America:

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.

From my family to everyone else's in the MGoCommunity, have an excellent Thanksgiving, and for those of you who are also Lions fans and will be watching them play the Fightin' Chip Kellys later today, here's to hopefully another win....unless you are worried about draft position, of course.

I spoke my peace in a diary yesterday, but we do have plenty to be thankful for here - as fans, as a community, and as individuals. Now, go seek out and destory that turkey, folks (with your appetite, of course).

Thankful for that!

legends are made in these games and stand the test of time!

I hope we are talking about several Michigan legends 10 years later after this Saturday.

Let's bring the pain to Ohio Nutbags! Two losses to the state of Michigan will resonate quickly with Urbs...
