Happy No Talking About Ugly Argumentative Stuff Friday Thread
Hi guys, I'm not sure what's been happening the last couple of weeks, so let's not talk about it.
Here's a picture of a
and a video of Trey Burke in the first comment.

Wow, that was a cool play!
September 27th, 2013 at 11:09 AM ^
I just rewatched the last 3 minutes and OT last night. Can't get enough of it. I've watched it over at least 20 times.
September 27th, 2013 at 11:46 AM ^
too. What jumps out at me was how furious of a rally it was for us to even get into position for that shot to mean anything. I remember it live as like a gradual comeback instead of a game that we were down ten points for the entire second up to about the two minute mark. GRIII off the Hardaway miss was actually a spectacular play that is easily forgotten. That was an epic game.
September 27th, 2013 at 12:57 PM ^
Oh I know. It's still hard to believe we won the game when watching it. It still looks like we are going to lose. Good old Trey filling it up. What a great night.

Interesting combination... might have to give it a whirl. I'm more of egg/bacon on a everything bagel with onion/chive cream cheese.
September 27th, 2013 at 11:42 AM ^
I am a big fan of that type of cream cheese. Cream cheese is just excellent for bagels. Strawberry flavor is also good on bagels. I am weird with my bagels. If they are not toasted, I use cream cheese if available. If they are toasted, I prefer butter.
September 27th, 2013 at 12:01 PM ^
toasted bagel with butter and some cinnamon sugar is a magnificent way to start the day

toasted sesame bagel, cream cheese, lox, capers, diced onion.
mmmmmmm...
September 27th, 2013 at 11:50 AM ^
never combine the sweet element of the cinnamon bagel and honey cream cheese with the egg. That is just asking too much of your tastebuds to reconcile all of that.
But then again I put mustard on my egg and cheese bagels so I am no authority.
September 27th, 2013 at 12:38 PM ^
Not sure how all those work together. I might have to give it a try.
September 27th, 2013 at 11:03 AM ^
Finished this paper with enough time to mess around on the blog before I have to go turn it in. And I'm watching a documentary in my only class today. And its my first Friday off work in several weeks. So everything is going pretty well.

Did the crazy thing and got a girlfriend...Can't.seem.to.learn.my.lesson.
September 27th, 2013 at 2:46 PM ^
Girlfriends are fine, just so long as you dont go and do something crazy like commit.
Financial commitment is an even more horrible decision. Of course, you know that by now. Pre-nup if you must and no-nup if you can. It's a trap!!!!
September 27th, 2013 at 11:53 AM ^
In some countries, a woman can effectuate a divorce simply by placing her husband's boots outside the entrance to their home. I'm not sure why I find that relevant.
September 27th, 2013 at 12:30 PM ^
not all that much more difficult in this country.
September 27th, 2013 at 12:55 PM ^
My wife puts my shoes outside all the time. And the kids' shoes too! Mutters when she does it, too.
Does this mean she's gonna up an' quit us? She said she was going out for a pack of Camels, but she's been taking a mighty long time.

and I'm not happy about it. In fact, I am decidedly unhappy.

In a show of solidarity with Mrs. LSA, I just finished the first cycle of the 17 Day Diet as of last night, so I am celebrating with an actual tuna sandwich as opposed to simply eating tuna out of a can, which is what I have been doing for the last three weeks basically.
This weekend, I am finally going to make the chili that I have been dying to make now that we can have red meat and beans on the second cycle, and perhaps order a pizza and have a beer. Those last two are other things I have missed as well.
Come Monday morning, I might need to be on the first cycle again and will need someone to finish off the chili leftovers for me.

Can I send you my address?

this time of year..as a friendly suggestion i would add ground turkey and/or chorizo if you are looking to avoid red meat...you can simply brown the turkey and chorizo together, add some water after browning, drain the fat/water, and then continue to add the ingredients you normally would...i just made a big batch like that a week ago and it was really good and healthier than traditional red meat chilli and had a ton of great flavor!
September 27th, 2013 at 2:30 PM ^
Seconded. After trying the turkey/chorizo combo last year in a batch of chili, I won't go back to red meat. I think this was suggested randomly on the blog last year - maybe by you?! If so, a million thanks.

glad you enjoy it as much as i do!...but unfortunately I cannot take the credit since I only joined the blog in February...so there must be another like-minded cook amongst ourselves!

One thing I love about bye weeks is it always gives me an opportunity to run up to the lake and get the boat/dock out without missing a Michigan game.

Here in Michigan, anyway. The temperature is forecast to be a very pleasant 74 degrees and I'm taking my wife to a nice place for lunch because I want to ... What's to complain about?
September 27th, 2013 at 11:17 AM ^
As far as I can tell from my extensive reading of public, free, and anonymous forums, this thread is the antithesis of the whole entire point of the internet.
I like the puppy though. (dammit there's a crack in my armor already)

Thank you, Zone Left. I like the happy thread. The sun is shining here in the South, too. And I have Oreos in my lunch today!

Hump Day!!!!!
September 27th, 2013 at 11:59 AM ^
We just started a bowling league that meets on Wednesday nights, and this week we found out the team names people selected. There is, inevitably, one called "HUMP DAAAAAAAAAY!"
September 27th, 2013 at 1:30 PM ^
I told everyone in my family that I wanted a Hump Day t-shirt (see video above) for Christmas.
September 27th, 2013 at 11:23 AM ^

Damn you, Michigan ATS!
