Hi guys, I'm not sure what's been happening the last couple of weeks, so let's not talk about it.
Here's a picture of a
and a video of Trey Burke in the first comment.
Wow, that was a cool play!
I just rewatched the last 3 minutes and OT last night. Can't get enough of it. I've watched it over at least 20 times.
too. What jumps out at me was how furious of a rally it was for us to even get into position for that shot to mean anything. I remember it live as like a gradual comeback instead of a game that we were down ten points for the entire second up to about the two minute mark. GRIII off the Hardaway miss was actually a spectacular play that is easily forgotten. That was an epic game.
Oh I know. It's still hard to believe we won the game when watching it. It still looks like we are going to lose. Good old Trey filling it up. What a great night.
Just made a double egg and cheese on cinnamon raisin bagel w/ honey nut cream cheese so I'm good.
Interesting combination... might have to give it a whirl. I'm more of egg/bacon on a everything bagel with onion/chive cream cheese.
I am a big fan of that type of cream cheese. Cream cheese is just excellent for bagels. Strawberry flavor is also good on bagels. I am weird with my bagels. If they are not toasted, I use cream cheese if available. If they are toasted, I prefer butter.
toasted bagel with butter and some cinnamon sugar is a magnificent way to start the day
That sounds delicious as well. I'm a big fan of salmon cream cheese too.
toasted sesame bagel, cream cheese, lox, capers, diced onion.
never combine the sweet element of the cinnamon bagel and honey cream cheese with the egg. That is just asking too much of your tastebuds to reconcile all of that.
But then again I put mustard on my egg and cheese bagels so I am no authority.
Not sure how all those work together. I might have to give it a try.
Finished this paper with enough time to mess around on the blog before I have to go turn it in. And I'm watching a documentary in my only class today. And its my first Friday off work in several weeks. So everything is going pretty well.
Don't have to work for 24 hours. Not even mad about having to work all day tomorrow since Michigan is on vacation. Pulling for all sorts of upsets tomorrow.
1/2 day of work for a company golf outing. Rocking my Michigan Golf Course polo. Should be a great day
If I get a divorce can we get rid of the bye week?
"/s" in case my wife sees this.
First wife day without in ten years.
You MoFo's know what I mean.
Freedom, sweet freedom!
Did the crazy thing and got a girlfriend...Can't.seem.to.learn.my.lesson.
Girlfriends are fine, just so long as you dont go and do something crazy like commit.
Financial commitment is an even more horrible decision. Of course, you know that by now. Pre-nup if you must and no-nup if you can. It's a trap!!!!
In some countries, a woman can effectuate a divorce simply by placing her husband's boots outside the entrance to their home. I'm not sure why I find that relevant.
not all that much more difficult in this country.
My wife puts my shoes outside all the time. And the kids' shoes too! Mutters when she does it, too.
Does this mean she's gonna up an' quit us? She said she was going out for a pack of Camels, but she's been taking a mighty long time.
and I'm not happy about it. In fact, I am decidedly unhappy.
In a show of solidarity with Mrs. LSA, I just finished the first cycle of the 17 Day Diet as of last night, so I am celebrating with an actual tuna sandwich as opposed to simply eating tuna out of a can, which is what I have been doing for the last three weeks basically.
This weekend, I am finally going to make the chili that I have been dying to make now that we can have red meat and beans on the second cycle, and perhaps order a pizza and have a beer. Those last two are other things I have missed as well.
Come Monday morning, I might need to be on the first cycle again and will need someone to finish off the chili leftovers for me.
Can I send you my address?
this time of year..as a friendly suggestion i would add ground turkey and/or chorizo if you are looking to avoid red meat...you can simply brown the turkey and chorizo together, add some water after browning, drain the fat/water, and then continue to add the ingredients you normally would...i just made a big batch like that a week ago and it was really good and healthier than traditional red meat chilli and had a ton of great flavor!
Seconded. After trying the turkey/chorizo combo last year in a batch of chili, I won't go back to red meat. I think this was suggested randomly on the blog last year - maybe by you?! If so, a million thanks.
glad you enjoy it as much as i do!...but unfortunately I cannot take the credit since I only joined the blog in February...so there must be another like-minded cook amongst ourselves!
One thing I love about bye weeks is it always gives me an opportunity to run up to the lake and get the boat/dock out without missing a Michigan game.
Makes BiSB sad panda.
right? i hit my number a month ago and doubled it already but my team is still trying to close 400k by Monday 5pm
Here in Michigan, anyway. The temperature is forecast to be a very pleasant 74 degrees and I'm taking my wife to a nice place for lunch because I want to ... What's to complain about?
As far as I can tell from my extensive reading of public, free, and anonymous forums, this thread is the antithesis of the whole entire point of the internet.
I like the puppy though. (dammit there's a crack in my armor already)
Thank you, Zone Left. I like the happy thread. The sun is shining here in the South, too. And I have Oreos in my lunch today!
I'm happier than a camel on Wednesday.
We just started a bowling league that meets on Wednesday nights, and this week we found out the team names people selected. There is, inevitably, one called "HUMP DAAAAAAAAAY!"
I told everyone in my family that I wanted a Hump Day t-shirt (see video above) for Christmas.
i got a free slice of pizza.
so there's that.
What are your thoughts on mike glennon?
Schiano, with your salary a free slice of pizza shouldn't be that big of a deal.
B1G Expansion back on the table?
One thing I love about bye weeks is that it gives me an opportunity to bet games with my head and not my heart.
Damn you, Michigan ATS!
It's friday though.. I request the highest of fives!
This thread is about nothing
arent those the words of George Costanza
is the thread formerly known as the pos bang thread. I enjoy it. It's happy. and not at all weird.
I put my house on the market last week and I'm under contract already. $25k over asking. Beers on me!
I have a business associate in the Denver-area who is frustrated because his house has been on the market for 2 weeks.
Maybe more importantly, congrats on your contract, although given the low inventory and high demand in Denver (epic 100-year floods notwithstanding), I'm not surprised.
LoHi. I bought when the neighborhood was a bit sketchy and now it's Hipsterville.
My agent suggested I offer it a bit low, $5,000 less than comps, and a bidding war would take place. It did. I got 4 bids the day after being listed. The second highest bid had cash (yeah, cash, I couldn't believe it) so I countered to the highest bid price. They took it.
I can get you, or anyone else, a sweet deal on a house in Lafayette -- mountain views galore.
I remember those days.
I moved up and was selling my house in the summer of 2006. Saw this reporter doing stories every day in nova where i live doing stories about how the market was falling apart. Good times. Good times.
Happy to be moving on a by week. Timing is everything.
Was it AA2Denver's house?
You paid $25K too much.
I have a saturday filled with PeeWee Hockey and 7th grade volleyball. I will try to watch Minny vs Iowa just to see how they both look in Big10 play.
only a 0.1% chance we'll embarass ourselves on national TV
Gonna take the kids fishing in the a.m. and hopefully take in my club's rugby match in the afternoon. The Saturday conflict of rugby and M football has been a pain for a lot of years. Fortunately and unfortunately, the demise of b-side matches in D2 and D3 rugby in MI makes it easier to miss the rugby.
Anyone else having a hard time understanding why a lot of people are putting Bama on upset alert? If Bama can beat A&M on the road, I dont think they will lose to Ole Miss at home.
Part of it is to drive interest and get eyeballs on that game.
I do think Ole Miss could give Alabama a game if the Tide look past this game. Their offense has been ok but the o line is a little suspect. It is is Tuscaloosa though so Ole Miss will have to play lights out while the Tide give a B effort.
Yeah this thread is much better than the garbage that was occuring earlier in the week. I just don't get why we can't all get along and discuss football, in a civil manner and when in disagreement (even as severe as it may be at times). Whahhh me, I know. Go Blue. Go Friday. Go Weekend. Go Beer.
How funny is it going to be after we don't play this weekend we rise in the rankings, after two weeks of winning and falling.
what happened this week?
FA is back?! So we're gonna get an M baseball preview now, right?
Your M baseball preview: they probably won't be very good. I haven't seen a game in 3 years, so I'm basing this very loosely on last year's performance. That said, I think they make it to Omaha this year. Omaha being the B1G tourney. Not the CWS.
I saw that WLA was back, so I had to see what the bourgeois agenda is with the occult masks.
Normally I loathe bye weeks, but the team needs it this weekend. Good timing right before conference play and after two near losses.
Today marks the halfway point of my 8 week paternal leave and I'm spending it in my pajamas (as usual) with my wife, dog and 4 week old little girl. For once in my life, this U of M fanatic and longtime MGoBlogger could care less about silly squabbles on the blog and concerns about the football team. Happy Friday / bye week everyone!
P.S. - Anyone know if there's any benefit (to the parents and/or the kid) of signing up a child so young for the "Kid's Go Blue Club"?
Congratulations! My second kid is due any day now. Pajamas stand at the ready.
So from old guy with his first not too long ago, congrats on your second!
Paternal leave??? Really???
I'm happy to defend jhender85, who I've had spirited debate with in the past. Why the triple question marks -- this is a non-argumentative thread??? Besides, paternity/paternal leave is a great thing on so many levels.
Spread the love, man!
I wasn't arguing...my Triple ? is for dis-belief. I have never actually heard of this. My assumption is that he is joking.
Interresting...but 11% isn't all that "common" but heck that is good for you and your wife.
I am still sitting at my keyboard stunned...I haven't had a vacation in more than a decade.
... and based on my own multiple paternity experiences, it's the opposite of a vacation. It's rewarding, but sure ain't easy, unless your idea of a vacation is crying, burping, spitting up, diaper changing, etc.
I know what you are saying, I have had kids of my own. It would have been really nice to have the "break" you are allowed...heck my wife only got 4 wks...and that was a lot...I know it isn't easy...but enjoy it now...all too soon they will want the keys to your car.
The US is increasingly unusual among developed countries for providing so little time off for both mothers and fathers. Not only do most developed countries require several weeks of paid time off, many of the world's best economies also allow a year or more of unpaid leave for either parent.
I'm not joking at all and it's pretty common now days. My work offers up to 8 weeks of "primary care leave" for parents. Which parent/gender you are doesn't matter. Getting paid to not have to work and get to know my new daughter? Yes please!
Put in 50 hours already this week. Finally off today and tomorrow. Bonfire tonight. My Dad and I always go to Michigan games but since there is a bye we are changing it up and hitting the WMU game. Western better win so I can preserve my perfect record at night games. (UTL 1 & 2 and the Tigers game last Friday where I got to see Max's 20th win)
I'm an equal opportunity embedder
Man I miss pre-goal-horn Yost.
Wow, great seats at the Final Four.
My office is closing early today for a team outing to Arlington Racetrack, a horse track outside of Chicago. So, basically I'm getting paid to leave the office early and go drink and gamble. Can't beat that!
Have a great weekend all!
Much as I'd love to comply with your title, EECS 281 projects are both ugly and argumentative, and I'll be talking about it all weekend. With my computer. Which hates me.
Nothing new for me this weekend. Just more studying for upcoming exams. Happy it's Friday, though!
Interested to see Ohio State take on Wisconsin and Iowa play Minnesota.
Finishing a big report today that has been weeks in process. Leaving work, on a beautiful day, to start a backyard deck project. Happy, Happly, Joy, Joy.
Can't stand this thread!
I'm outta here
I recently finished a piece on my WD experience and thought the board might be interested in it. It is a bit lengthy and nowhere as good as the original, but some might find it mildly amusing on a Friday during bye week. Thoughts?
Our football team is undefeated and our basketball team is going to be awesome again this year. Hooray.
No ugly argumentative topics? Good. I've been waiting for people to drop their Akron & Uconn snowflakes so we can have some witty banter about your
Obamacare favorite cheeses and the debt limit your favorite pizza shapes! Who wants to go first???
Mod Edit: Come on! [ZL]
I'm in New Mexico but drinking imported Founder's Dirty Bastard.
Also, it is cloudy and below 60 degrees. Snow is starting to fall in the mountains to the north. Life is good.
