I'm going to read a book while listening to my "The Book of Mormon" soundtrack.
Happy "I'm here for the Posbang" Friday!!!
Is vastly easier when the thing you are listening to is the book on tape version of what you're reading.
I've also found you can knock out two books at once while simultaneously knocking out zero books at once by reading a different book than the one you are listening to on tape. But it does make for an interesting third-book mash up/remix.
Why stop at three? Have a headphone in each ear playing a different audiobook, with an audiobook playing on a stereo system in the background. Then you line up 5 actual books (or kindles, if you happen to have 5 kindles lying around), and read from each, but one word at a time of each book, in a rotation.
That's how I read the enire Harry Potter series in a day. I'm a little fuzzy on exactly what happened. But there was a guy, and some weird names, and I'm pretty sure some dude named Voldemort saved the day.
saying that name!! Friggin' muggle...
Great find, TrppWlbrnID. You can definitely hear the James Murphy influence, which works for me here (even though I'm not a big LCD Soundsystem fan).
Tidbits like this make me miss the moderation system. Put yourself down for a posbang when that returns.
everyone murders? :S
Seriously, pos and negs need a comeback. This weekend is dedicated to grad school workload. For halloween I will probably dress like a bumblebee to make my daughter happy.
away game jersey?
I keed, I keed.
If u put your stinger in the front I'm sure you'll feel more confident.
as Kenny Powers, had the mullet hat and everything including the shades, eye block and the ass-kickin arm of a god striking motherfuckers out!...i don't think i can top that costume/attitude ever again, maybe I'll go as Stevie Janowski this year....Cheers to all you micro-brew drinkers out there!
Make sure to find a girl who can be a body double for Stevie's hot wife.
I'm here for the gang bang!
After two weeks mostly away on Saturdays, I'm going to get a chance to get back into this weekend. Probably go to a little hole in the wall, live music bar tonight to listen to some bluegrass as well. Should be a nice, cold weekend.
After work I plan to head home and spend time with my two week old baby boy, who will undoubtedly show his appreciation for me by either pooping or peeing on me...or if it's a special day, both.
And I won't even care....ahhhh, Fatherhood.
on Ferris Jr. !!!
Apologies to the Board for no "Hello" post, but let's just say that I'm confident that the U of M Class of 2035 will be well-represented.
Congrats on the little one!
An authentic flight suit from an uncle who was in the Air Force, and I am going as "Maverick" while a friend of mine (5 inches taller and goofier) is going as goose... We plan to fail at picking up girls, but it'll be worth it
I assume this means you'll be singing You Lost That Lovin' Feelin' to at least one of said girls?
As an Air Force member I cringe when I hear people using AF flight suits for Top Gun costumes. Top Gun is Navy.
That aside, at least you're trying.
Yeah, but an Iron Eagle costume would be the opposite of cool.
Do I go to class or do I not go to class
I'm here for the thing that no longer exists! Woo-woo!!
Seriously - if the Ghost of <fill in dead Michigan coach name> wanted something to really bust Brian's buttons he should rename himself "TheGhostofPosBang" or something like that.
I fear our ability to moderate is just as dead as those past coaches.
and ye shall receive.
Damn that was fast.
Did I mention that I have a Nigerian Uncle that as $22,000,000 US that he wants to move to a American business partner? All he needs is your name, social security number, bank account number, routing number and your CC number to ensure the fund transfer goes successfully.
Where can I sign up?
I wish I could upvote this.
+1,000,000,000 imaginary points.
What games are y'all most looking forward to this weekend?
for obvious reasons
Lions v. Cowboys, hopefully Megatron dominates!
South Carolina-Mizzou and UCLA-Oregon
I have a party tonight.
Acts as a beer coozy. Very creative, and obviously a necessity that I was worried you overlooked.
My costume is Rex From Napolean dyanamite.
But how can he drink with that mask covering his face?
That's a badass costume !
I got hit in the face by a hockey stick last night an lost one of my front teeth. Here's to pain killers!!!'
SOoooooo whats everyone doing wife day 2?
Ugghhh Wife Day II. Get me a drink.
I'm doing her . . . heh, heh.
Big Gulps, huh guys? Well, see ya later.
Can this count as a posbang?
Eh fuck it. It's friday.
An imaginary pos bang to everyone here.
EXCEPT YOU. you know who you are.
I don't know what I miss more... Posbangs or Negbangs.
Although I miss posbangs, I definitely mis negs more. The ability to just downvote anincredibly stupid post, was great. Now I have to write a comment to explain how wrong people are. Its much more time consuming.
I thought that I heard that taking this away was in error, at first. But is the rating system gone entirely, and for eternity? This was a top point I would mention when talking up this blog!
Putting up lots of insulation and drywall =(
Dying for some Octoberfest beer. I'm surprised there isn't another stupid "wife day 2.0" thread.
Shhh. They've already had one wifeday this year.
From Shrek. Looks great and keeps me warm, it's the best of both worlds.
Well, we're taking the kids to Boo Bash at Briarwood Mall tomorrow, so there is that when it comes to Halloween activities. We're also taking them out to Dundee - where my wife's brother and his family live - for actual trick or treating on Thursday as our neighborhood typically doesn't see a lot of activity on Halloween. I suppose we could leave the cats to hand out candy to the few that typically show up.
There's also football, of course, and a viewing of "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", during which I normally tell the story of how one Halloween, I decided I would be Linus and we repurposed a portion of the front yard to be the pumpkin patch. It actually turned out to be a smashing success, although I still owe my father for all those pumpkins that we had to somehow get rid of over the course of the following week.
Finally get a down-ish week from Grad school, so hopefully some relaxing. Basically anything but study, though there'll have to be some of that, too.
Happy Friday, everyone! Enjoy the weekend!
Moving some beer around here at the brewery. Ready for a nice and easy Friday night.
I have a ton of work that needs to get done at the office, but I'm thinking of skipping out of work early to catch a movie. I love going to matinees- lower ticket prices, no lines, no crowded theaters, etc. I might even go see Bad Grandpa. Don't judge.
I actually picked up tickets for the Washington-Cal game this weekend and will be checking out the renovated Husky Stadium. It's a night game so the atmosphere should be pretty crazy.
Since there's no Michigan football to watch, I decided to make a trip to Kansas City and watch the best team in the NFL right now the Chiefs. Oh I live in Wichita so it's not like I'm making a 12 hour trip for it. First NFL game for me unless you count watching Doug Flutie play for the Chargers in a preseason game back in 2001...
Damn you Phil Steele for your college football anecdotes and their all too poignant application and parallels to real life!!!!
saw a big slab of rectum busting through a ballsack for the first time, on a dead body. my friday is going swelllll
Finished most of my work early so now I'm on cruise control. I'm going to Happy Hour and then to Ford Field, with some fellow Crusaders, to watch King beat cass for the PSL Title.
Homework and freelance work like crazy. I'll be in sweats, in front of the computer all weekend. If I get a decent amount done tonight, I'll hope to hit the corner bar for a few, and maybe even get a drink or two thrown on me by some coeds.
Is it just me or is this particular Friday dragging? Usually this happens when Michigan plays the following day, but even with a bye week, it's still dragging.
My 13 year old son doesn't have school today, so we're sitting here watching "Jackass."
aaaaand it's still dragging. good lord this MGoBoard is dead today.
Weekends in the podunk town where I currently live and work are pretty depressing without M football. Going into the office unnecessarily on some Saturdays when there's no game doesn't always seem like the worst idea.
but then you miss all of the other games and to that I say:
I'll be handing out little blue cough drops while saying things like: "I am the danger", "Nobody stops this train" and "I'm in the empire business."
I like your style. I'll be in the tree for most of the weekend as well.
My wife is 8 months pregnant for halloween this year, so we are thinking up some creative costumes for the bump. Best I have heard so far is globe and magic 8-ball.
Going through a rim
I'm actually going to get one of my pictures published in Esquire. I'm moving on up in the world or something like that. This is the fifth picture I've gotten published somewhere other than my blog.
I'll have to wait until it's actually in the article.
However, one of my pictures is in a book called "Football Nation" put out by the Library of Congress. It is one of the pictures I took of the Scoreboard with the Slippery Rock score.
My blog post about the book:
Put together a pretty good Jim Leyland costume I plan on rocking to a party tonight.
You'll need a lineup card with lots of redlines or something like that...:)
Haha thats a good idea.
What you'll need is cigarettes. Lots of them.
I got that covered. I don't smoke, but tonight I shall in honor of Jimbo.
Chilling at Ashley's right now. Lots of good beers on tap. Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard, Bell's Expedition Stout and Founders Breakfast Stout all on tap. It could be a long night. A little GTA Online tonight and then I have no idea. Wings are on tomorrow night then the Lions, Sunday.
So kind of you to ask what I am doing.
Comedy Club tonight, em hockey on Saturday and watching the World Series.
Taking the nephews out on Halloween
to redoing 6 weeks of work lost with my hard drive on Tuesday. Data recovery failed. Woe is me.
