Happy Friday/Long Vacation/POSBANG THREAD!

This is my last day of work until after Christmas and I think I'm taking a half day today. There's no way I'm going to be productive today. Anybody have any big holiday plans?

Lucky devils, I will be working late tonight trying to complete-as-much-as-i-can report for our regulator.  Good/Bad news is that I only work 1 1/2 days next week, however 16 hours of that will be spent on the road (mostly in Ohio).

Well, I took both Mondays (23rd and 30th) off, so while I get two consecutive five-day weekends, I will be quite literally the only supervisor in the building for the Thursday and Friday of each holiday week, and as we're going to be running less than a skeleton crew here, my only wish is that there is no storm which rolls through on those days. That, and it is one of the few times of the year where I know I can get tons of things done knowing that few if any people will call. 

No big plans really - Christmas tends to be a staycation of sorts for us. We do have a dinner to go to in Dundee tomorrow, but that's about it, so I might miss a bowl game or two (not that I am sad about missing the ones on Saturday, no offense to the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl). We'll probably have to take the kids to various distractions so they don't destroy the house, of course - the movies tend to be good filler, for example. 

Today is pretty much dead here - not a lot of new work rolls in at the end of December and most people are already gone for the holidays. The nature of being a utility demands that you have some coverage, so there is at least that, but right now, you could play a live concert in the aisles and bother virtually no one.

Happy Friday and Happy Christmas everyone. I'm not taking much time off next week but I get to enjoy our first Christmas with our baby. It's been an amazing year with the little guy. We'll be sledding and listening to John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album.

The building in which I work has a planned shutdown every year. I'm taking Monday off, then we shut down all the way until the 2nd. Catching the M-Stanford game in Brooklyn tomorrow with the lady friend, then coming home to Michigan for a week.

I'm taking the next week and a half off, taking the family for the first 5 days or so down to maryland to stay with my folks. But first I'll be at Barclays tomorrow night with my 14-year-old watching UM hopefully take care of business against Stanford. That would be a great way to kick off the vacay!

My wife and I are both off today.  Since Sunday is my birthday and she has to work she is taking me to the movies.  This is why I married her.

ice storm in West MI.  And nobody wants to see a salesman unless they're bringing snack trays, so taking the day to finish off a little shopping and taking the kids to the movies.

Followed by happy hour with an Irish couple, a Staee couple, and a buckeye couple.

My daughter (15) is getting a new 5-weight for Christmas.  We'll hang her reel I bought last year on it.  My son (9) gets a new reel, line, vest, and polaroids.  We'll hang the reel on the daughter's old rod and get photos of both practice casting on the frozen lake with the new gear. 

I may get over to Grayling for a day on the North Branch myself.

I'm heading back to Indianpolis after work for 18 days off!  Got Christmas, New Years, a couple of Pacers' games, bowl season, and finishing break off with my older sister's wedding. Going to be awesome! Here's to a Happy Holidays for all my MGoBrethren and HOPEFULLY a couple of Michigan wins over break!

Unfortunately, my parents live there. I hear it's going to be rather warm, which pisses me off because my son really wants to see snow. My wife (who is from Mexico) said, "If there is no snow, what's the point in going?" It's Ohio. There's never a good reason to be there.

that just opened up nearby our office.  A bunch of us are starting the weekend there early this afternoon.  Something tells me I will derive far more pleasure from being at an actual Buffalo Wild Wings vs. watching the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
