Happy Football New Year!

Submitted by South Bend Wolverine on

The long wait is finally over!  At 7 PM tonight, the first NCAA football games of the year will be played, headlined by Vandy taking on South Carolina.  I'll be rooting for the Northwestern of the SEC, myself.

Friday will bring my first live sports action, as I'll go and watch my D-III grad school take on their first opponent of the year under the lights, and then Saturday ... well, one hardly needs to mention it.

To the new season, may it be a glorious one! #133

I need help...I am a life long Redskins fan and have a severe dislike for Sparty....but Cousins is playing really well in the preseason for the Skins.  I was cheering for a Sparty is that ok?

The best news I take out of this is that after watching him play Im fairly certain MSu is going to miss him more than they think they are.

No problem there at all.  Pro sports are their own thing.  I enjoy watching Wolverines succeed even if they're not play for my teams, but I have no trouble rooting for Lions/Wings/etc. players who came from schools I don't care for.  Chris Spielman was an awesome linebacker for the Lions, doesn't matter who he played for in college.

At first I was happy, and then I was bummed when I found out ESPN3 would crack down on ESPN simulcasting during primetime hours. As a peon without cable, ESPN3 was my sole resort for watching college football last season. I am saddened by the loss of ESPN3 but I realize why ESPN had to make this business decision, and I sadly move on to FirstRow.
