So you're not reallllly the crazy uncle you portray yourself as, then??

The profit will eventually legalize it, but the health benefits for those truly in need (chemotherapy patients, those with glaucoma, etc) are why it always should have been. Also, legalization is the right answer to end the violence that stems from black market dealings of it.

But Columbus Day is, and he used to cut the hands off indigenous folks (and then hang the severed hand around their neck) who didn't comply with his demand to bring he and his crew more gold. So, you know, maybe a day devoted to getting high and playing hacky sack and frisbee and laying out in a park in the sun wouldn't be a terrible thing? Don't we have enough days devoted to war and murderers and such?

What do YOU call a day that has special significance to a large group of people?

I'm not a member of any group that "celebrates" 4/20, just like I don't celebrate Yom Kippur, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, or Chinese New Year. But that doesn't make it less of a holiday to others.

You made a pretty smarmy remark and are getting called out for it.

Pick your battles somewhere else. Maybe go hammer out the soccer thread I made? I know you love soccer.

our due date is next week, but I predicted months ago today would be the day. Solid chance still. She woke up at about 4:20 am thinking it might be time but false alarm.
