Happy 38th Birthday Tom Brady

Submitted by Blueblood2991 on

A very Happy Birthday to Mr. Tom Brady.  The ultimate underdog story, the ultimate competitor, and the ultimate teammate.  The Maize and Blue faithful are proud of the way you have represented the university (despite what that asshole Goodell says).

"You know what the greatest honor I've ever received as a player is? In my 4th year and my 5th year I was named team Captain. That, to this day, is the single greatest achievement I've ever had as a football player. Because the men in this room chose me to lead their team."

Those are BIG words from a guy who has pretty much won everything there is to win in the game at the pro level. You can hear his desire in this speech and I think that desire is really something that has been missing in recent years. I think guys now are being held accountable and are learning how to hold others accountable as well. Michigan will be back to a senior led program and I think that's something that will eventually contribute to bringing team success back as well.

I remember my 38th birthday, when I realized that maybe I only had one or two more Superbowl MVPs left in me, and that soon enough I'd be heading to the HoF after segueing into another career after leaving the NFL.  It's a bittersweet day.*

(Happy Birthday Tom - Any issues you're facing now may be related to many of us saying that Goodell can suck balls.  Maybe his minions took that literally, leading to this mess.)

*Wait, did I say "remember"?  Truth be told, I've not had half the accomplishments in pro sports that Tom Brady has enjoyed.  Maybe even less than half.

Well, if there is anyone that could stand a more cheerful day in football lately, it might just be Tom Brady. I don't know that a Brady-worthy gift is quite in the budget, but tweeting out birthday wishes will hopefully suffice. I keep forgetting that Brady is less than a year older than me - not sure why except perhaps it is simply a rare event for someone to have had the career that he has had for as long as Brady has.

Technically it maybe grammatically incorrect, but when used as an interjection (expressing emotion from the part of the speaker) it is commonly accepted to have it capatalized.  Hey if Harbaugh likes to capatalize random letters for emphasis, I'm ok with it too.
