Halftime feelings

Submitted by Happyshooter on

Last week I had to leave the TV and computer at halftime, and head outside to fire up the Halloween bonfire.

I was listening to the game on the radio and drinking my Oberon clone homebrew.

I got more and more...I guess enraged. Some at Robinson, some at RichRod. It just seemed like RR has had two years, and Rob 1, to teach the D how to play.

I decided to cheer up, using my glass. That worked, after a fashion.

Anyway, I didn't post all week because I was bummed (that, and after draining a bunch of 6.5% beer, I was pretty laid low Sunday).

Over the week I kept thinking, well, our wins have all been close, so maybe M is still a 7 win team and we just got most of them the first few weeks by chance.

Then I thought, WTH!?! There is no such thing as a spread defense. What the heck happened when Carr left.

Anyhow, I stayed away from the computer that first half of this week because I was worried I couldn't think of something nice to say, and then I saw a great half of Michigan ball.

Where was this the last few weeks?

This was Tate running on all 8. Koger looking great. The O line working. Even the D stepped up.

but I was feeling okay at halftime last week too. Need a good third quarter. It doesn't seem Michigan has come out in the 3rd quarter in any conference game this year and played all that well. I don't recall the 3rd against Indiana. Maybe today's the the day?

Much better. I have loved M football since I was old enough to know what sports were, all my years on campus I only missed one home game, and that because some friends were rude enough to wed that day.

When I was in law school Carr even come over to give seminars in sports law and ethics.

The last few years have been hard, and last year I kept ignoring the question and statement in the back of my mind...there is no spread defense.

I was really happy with the team this year, right up until...

But this is what the team can be, what a fall Saturday in Ann Arbor should be.

There has to be something going on in that lockerroom at halftime.

RichRod has to be doing something wrong in there. Nothing else can explain this week after week.
