Hail and Unite is back by unpopular demand

Submitted by Leaders And Best on

Hail and Unite has launched a new website and a promo video. The hype is real! They even have an executive board. It's fitting that this comes on a day when Brian writes about the failure of Dave Brandon. I wonder who served as Louis Elbel's CFO and COO back when he wrote "The Victors."

This "movement" is so stupid. 99 percent of Michigan fans and students hate it. Some little squirrly kid with money jut won't stop bc he wants to prove something. A boycott may be needed. Obviously this troll won't stop.

The notion that they "were interested in reaching out to the music dept" was my favorite part of the new Daily article on this committee of shitheads.  They've formed a giant unwieldy coalition of asshattery, and haven't reached out to anyone associated with actually making good music.

Maybe this is all part of some secret Ross test.  Like their professors aren't exactly encouraging this, but not exactly dissuading them either.  And once it gets far enough, the dean will pop out of a bush and yell WRONG MOTHERFUCKERS! BAD BUSINESS ACCUMEN!! NO B-SCHOOL DEGREE FOR YOU!!

If there were more graphic design, advertising, marketing, communication and music majors involved I'd be all for them showing their enthusiasm.

Using university funds to hire someone outside the university is asinine though.  This screams management/DB CEO behavior.  Do we have people in house with a clue who could complete this project on the cheap?  "Yeah maybe but..... these guys are expensive so they must be good"

6 months later..... "Turns out we paid for crap, but lets not admit it, lets just try to push it down people's throats so we're not failures.  I mean we're awesome, if you don't agree you suck!".

Wow. Even though I already thought these spoiled brats were doing this to pad their resumes and feel important, but seeing all of these made up B.S. titles listed like that just solidifies my opinion that this is such a pathetic attempt to boost their own resumes and their "credentials". CEO, CFO, etc Hahaha. You've got to be kidding me!

Padding the ol' resume through self aggrandizement is a timeless tradition.

When I was at the B-School a small group of students who were very full of themselves decided to sell advertising to local merchants on calendars they would then give away to students.  Middle School stuff, about as basic and unsophisticated as it gets.

Their grandiose name for themselves . . . "Strategic Marketing Group".  To sell ads on calendars.

I'm sure by the time it made it to their resumes, they co-founded Apple.

There is a lot of social media backlash so far, which has not deterred these clowns much, if at all. Many seem to think this crap will die on its own, which I am a sincere fan of. If this wretched idea does start to gain any traction I think a gathering of people against it, outside one of their scheduled meetings, would suffice to finally put it to bed.

This university has the prestige and tradition that oes along with the moss filled buildings and the best band in the business. I refuse to let some rich kid fuck with it just because he thinks we need a song to pump us up.

Hmmm... Pretty sure making a Michigan theme song never crossed my mind when I was a student up in A2.

These guys, however, seem determined to deliver on something so trivial.

Beause they get validation from all the MgoBlog asshats who obsess over stuff like this.

I'm grateful for the fact that these loons have started this project.  Not only do i get to laugh at them, I get to laugh at all the mgoblog asshats whining that members of their tribe are part of it, or congratulating themselves that members of their traibe are not.

I can excuse the students who are trying this silliness - they are students and take silly stuff seriously because they aren't adult enough yet to not take it seriously.  The mgoblog asshats have no such excuse.
