Hagelin scored 2 goals tonight in the Rangers 3-0 win over their cross-town rivals, the New York Islanders. NYR netted an empty-netter, but who cares? Anyone can do that.

Also Team USA leads Denmark 9-2 after 2 periods in the World Junior Championships on NHL Network. John Merrill had the first goal 24 seconds into the game. Trouba looks good out there as well (2012 commit).

Glad Carl is tearing things up, but I wish it was with a different team. The Rangers are first in the East and tied for the league lead in points. THIS WILL NOT STAND.
After watching Carl the last few years at Yost, is anyone surprised with his performance? May be it's a bit soon, but the guy has had all the tools to succeed.

You probably don't watch many rangers games if you don't think this will last. They are for real this year. They have manhandled the Pens and Flyers every time they've played this year. Boston seems tops but the Rangers are a close second.

I'm a Bruins fan. We are ROLLING right now. I don't get to see the Rangers that much because they're in a different division and we don't play them very often. They're not a team I'd go out of my way to see either. I'm really interested to see what happens when these two teams actually meet. I think the Bruins are the best team in the East right now though.

Carl is the man
Got to know Carl while at school, and he is one of the most humble/modest athletes. I texted him after his first game with the Rangers to congratulate him and he got back to me pretty quickly saying "thanks"
Also being a Ranger fan, I know he is becoming a fan favorite in NY pretty fast. Hopefully 24/7 on HBO can get some more footage of him so more of America can learn how awesome a hockey player and person the man is.

I expected him to be a Darren
I expected him to be a Darren Helm type player - just hustling, wreaking havoc on the penalty kill, getting to loose pucks and setting up other players. But he seems to have more of a knack at goal scoring than Helm. Bork!!
