Yes, he is.

Did I just make up that Gary is announcing at the game or is he still saying NSD?
December 28th, 2015 at 10:30 AM ^
He still has an official to USC he hasn't taken yet, I think its January 15th.
December 28th, 2015 at 10:34 AM ^
I don't think he has ever publically said when he is going to announce.
December 28th, 2015 at 10:35 AM ^
He said at one time that if he didn't decide by the UA game, then he would announce on National Signing Day. So unless he's going to announce before he finishes his scheduled officials (which I doubt), then I don't think he'll make his decision public until NSD.

Champions of the west, bro. It's in our fight song!

a) One reason might be the heavy population on the East Coast, plus numerous states in the southeast with a ton of talent.
b) Another reason might be that there aren't a ton of good players in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Idaho, etc.
c) Another reason is: who cares?

Yeah, but I think Swearingen will be an undersized, scrappy, gritty, shit-talking outside linebacker at the next level.
December 28th, 2015 at 12:47 PM ^
Not sure about Swearingen. I've heard he lost a finger.

This please.
I feel like this is the first time in a long time that Michigan will be a major player on the day of these All-American games.
Can't wait!

I don't know this first sentence that accurately.

Thanks for putting this together.
Nitpick side-note: Announcing, not annoucing.
December 28th, 2015 at 10:18 AM ^
FYI, there are a lot more Michigan "recruits" who are playing in these games.
December 28th, 2015 at 10:24 AM ^
I know, and if I missed any important ones I will add them, but I felt like this was a short list of the recruits with the most potential to join the class.

To Magnus
In the past are there genereally a lot of big swings in player rankings post all star games for lineman? And LBs? I know the CBs, QBs, WRs et al get to show off all the time in 7 v 7 settings but all the linemen get to do in camps is do those 1 on 1 battles which really doesnt replicate game conditions much at all whereas this does. It's really the only time they will go up against similar talent for 60 minutes in their HS career and yes it's not a normal team with normal conditions but the 1 v 1 battles should be a lot more like the "real thing" than vs camps.
Similar idea with LBs who don't get a lot of chance to show how they play the run in camp settings and usually D1 P5 athletes will dominate at their local HSs....so they get to face real competition here.
Also your TTB for Peters was 86 on a decent JR tape ... he then went on to have a superlative senior year. Can I hear a 90 bro?

This is only anecdotal, but yes, there are generally SOME big swings in recruiting rankings after the practices and all-star games. You'll see reports that guys just can't hang with the top competition, some guys shy away from competition, some guys look slower, etc. I've seen that with linemen where "left tackle" prospects can't catch up to speed rushers, where "offensive guards" get overpowered, where "weakside ends" don't look quite as fast around the edge, etc. I don't know that I've seen a similar trend with linebackers, really, but that's not to say that it doesn't exist.

Thanks for the handy reference tool Tate. Nice to have a guide of who to look for in these games.
December 28th, 2015 at 11:22 AM ^
Great post, no bullshit. Thanks for this, extremely helpful.
edit: ne thing you may want to add is what network is carrying each game. I know the Army is NBC, UA will be ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. For some reason I think the other one is NFL Network. I'll quit being lazy and look it up myself, but that may be helpful in this primer.
