Gruden asks those kinds of questions all the time just to see how the prospects respond. In all honesty I think Kirk handled it about as well as he could have. Still funny, of course.

Do one of those pictures of Kork with the "Sit on Couch....Get  more respect from Gruden"?  (or something that you witty guys do...I just love those)

I so love this gif, it's the whole series of unfortunate events. The initial success of pulling out the tablecloth, then hitting the brother in the nads, which causes him to lurch back in pain and knock the china cabinet on top of him, while the older brother runs out of the way. How perfect was that??

This is the only thing Gruden has ever said that hasn't really annoyed me. Remember when people were talking about him after car as a "potential candidate". Obviously, he wasn't a serious candidate at all, but what do you think that would have turned out like?

After all, Cousins spent his last four years going 4-0 against U-M. But that's a fascinating counterfactual. Maybe you can get it in the record books.

Gruden asked a "what if" question. That is, what would have been the outcome of the U-M/MSU game if Brady had been the QB for U-M? In other words, the scenario is "counter" to the facts because when Cousins played Brady was not the U-M quarterback. Another example is: What would my earnings this year be had I not gotten a college degree? I did get a degree, so the question is a counterfactual. We can't know the answer for sure; we can only hypothesize about it using other information.

But I'm always willing to learn. Please explain specifically why what Gruden proposed was not a counterfactual.

MSU troll, I think we all have a pretty good idea what your "earnings" are for this year.  You better get back to work and make good use of that degree, the drive-thru is getting backed up.

Jon's right, Brady would have kicked his ass....except Lloyd was rotating him with Drew Henson, so Cousins won one he shouldn't have.

Damn you 1999 game!

Considering my Mom's side of the family is jewish, I should prolly be embarrassed. Not nearly as embarrassed as the kid in that gif tho!

As a kid I always thought people rocked Kippahs as a crafty way to hide male pattern baldness. The jury is still out!
