Group of Death (Group B) Who you got?

Submitted by BubbaT33 on

Quick question before the games today:  Who you got in the group of death?  Denmark, Germany, Netherlands or Portugal . . . It would be hard to bet against the Germans, but the Dutch showed a lot of class in the World Cup two years ago!

Just a gut feeling. I'm think Germany gets a little extra from their two "german" players and I think Ronaldo continues on his run and gets Portugal to the next round

Klose was what, six years old when his family emigrated? Klose chose to play for Germany because he considers himself German; it sure as hell didn't improve his chances of landing a spot on a national team.

Feeding anti-immigrant hysteria in Germany and trying to force soccer players to go back to countries they can hardly even remember living in does not seem to me to be such a great idea. Questions of citizenship and of whether immigrants can ever belong to their new country and society are no laughing matter in Europe. Or anywhere else for that matter.

I would prefer to see Denmark and The Netherlands advance, but I think Germany and The Netherlands is more likely. Portugal can go die in a fire for all I care.

will make it to the final.  With Villa out and Torres playing like a shell of his former self, they don't have enough finishers on the pitch.  Funny thing about Spain's top two clubs is that the best scorers on those clubs aren't Spanish.

Torres was starting to find his form for Chelsea near the end of the season.  Confident in that  Spain's midfield will tear holes through most of the Euro teams to get to the finals, but Germany has more than enough talent to counter the Spanish midfield, and need Gomez to actually finish.

Yeah, it is a litting concerning about Spain's lack of finishers, and I think all the Barca fans are wondering how differently this season would have went if Villa was healthy on the pitch (he gets SO overshadowed playing next to Messi, but he's a lethal finisher in his own right).

Just like ManU fans wondering/cursing Vidic's absence this year. :/

Fernando Llorente is a MONSTER of a forward (and he plays in a system that is nearly identical to Spain's system at Athletic Bilbao), and Negredo has been lighting it up for Sevilla this year.  And Iniesta is still the best scoring midfielder in the world, Spain will have no problem scoring goals.

Germany was young in the World Cup and have had a few years to mature.  There isn't any reason they should not win the pool, they just need to watch out for the Netherlands and not take them lightly.
