Gridiron Kings Championship on ESPNU (Shane Morris)
I really wanna see how Morris does here. I know its not the end all of anything but to see him on tv and not on youtube will show sides you can't see on the internet
Exactly, you will see his mistakes and not just his hand picked highlights.
#HALOL! What mistakes!?
Hes not Tim Tebow...Yet
I missed the initial slide detailing the rules (downs, etc). Can anyone catch me up?
20 yards for a first down.
3 downs unless inside the 20, then it is 4
One hand touch
Thanks.
Never mind, Thanks above
Beautifull deep ball thrown by Morris on the midwest opening drive. Can't believe the receiver dropped it.
Announcers said he was the best QB at stretching the field they saw this weekend
The one white receiver on the southwest team just made the most of his one target so far, capping it off with a thoroughly awkward celebration.
Quick Question: Is Morris the only junior playing?
I know there was a QB for a different team that was also a 2013 prospect. Something along the line of Trey Furgeson?
Cool, so it sounds like Morris is the only junior in this game. Impressive.
NC QB Riley Ferguson. He goes by Turd. At least I hope he does.
Turd Ferguson, heh, it's a funny name.
No it's not.
Yeah it is.
Found this hat backstage, it's funny.
Mid West is getting butt slammed
Yeah, the talent on the southwest looks better than the midwest. They're blanketing the midwest offense.
This is the first game I have watched, are there alot of blowouts?
Midwest down 21-0 with 9:22 left in the first half. Not a good start.
Morris is only 4 for 9 thus far, looking a bit shaky, but man does he have an arm. I would hate to be the one to catch those passes.
Yeah, the other guy has more completions but most of his passes are short and easily completed. Morris is taking more chances and showing off his arm strength.
Midwest kids are shaking their hands in pain after catching a Morris pass. Then he whips one into the endzone for a TD. He has got some serious zip on those passes.
Southwest 21 Midwest 7 at the half. Morris 10 of 17, 136 yards, 1 TD.
Thanks to all who are posting updates on the game. If I have ESPNU, I sure don't know what channel it is, so the info is muchly appreciated . . . .
If you have Comcast, it's 708. And it's still 21-7 w/ 15 mins left. Someone from the midwest got an endzone interception of southwest's last drive.
A couple of big completions in a row to Ron Thompson. He moves pretty well for a big guy with a bit of a gut. More importantly, it looks like he has sure hands. Really wish we had room for him as a TE, H-back, or whatever.
I agree, him and Morris have been connecting on some great passes.
21-14 southwest
EDIT: premature 21-13, missed extra point pass
Down 21-0 know 21-13. Is Shane Morris RoboHenne part 2?
Morris getting into a groove, connecting with Thompson and his other rceivers. If not for some untimely drops, Midwest could be looking even better.
Haven't seen much of T-Rich in this game, but when I have it’s been a big receiver catching a ball over top of him. Wish he was a couple inches taller. Has anyone seen any good plays by him? Not saying he hasn't had them, just haven't seen them. Though these events do not usually make DBs look good.
I know he has a big PBU later in this game. Overall, he had a very ok performance. Didn't do anything terrible, but nothing spetacular. 247 says they over-rated him and he will drop a bit in the next rankings. They also said Shane Morris was the best QB at the event. Apparently, the midwest team just didn't have the overall playmakers on O or D that other teams did.
T Rich hasn't done much this game, but he just brok up a pass against a much bigger receiver (a tight end). The next pass was intercepted by ronald darby.
Okay, now he makes a big play to prevent a TD.
Well he just broke up a deep ball to the big white tight end.
Morris underthrows a ball to the endzone that gets picked ( it was a 40 yd pass, still a pretty good throw). 29-13 with 5 1/2 mins left.
Morris was picked on an up for grabs deep ball.
<br>The southwest sure is a... Talkative bunch
yeah I am smiling
So are we
Don't get too cocky, that interception was needed for the midwest, but it was basically like darby caught a punt.
Wait till you see the west team, ND has 2 more commits there, both were MVPs at their positions for the whole event.
Okay, THAT is defintiely worth a smile.
Holy Jebus do I wish this was real football.
29-13 final for Southwest. Morris gets picked off twice but played pretty well aside from that, especially considering he was the only junior.
had way better play makers, our WR/TE looked SLOW.
Exactly what I was thinking!
