Greg sighting in Green Bay!

God the Lions sucked. Matt Flynn just owned the "vaunted defense."

Detroit's secondary is pretty banged up and played like shit.  Matt Flynn played as good of a game as Aaron Rodgers would have IMO.  Pisses me off the 3 terrible calls Detroit had go against them with the Titus Young TD, Jordy Nelson muffed fair catch, and the Logan return fumble.  The Lambeau Field advantage is undeniable.

They had everyone but Delmas back there today (Aaron Berry is not a quality player and not a real loss). Injuries aren't a good excuse. They just flat-out sucked.

A lot also has to go on both the coordinator and the lack of pass rush. Gunther Cunningham, Kyle Vanden Bosch, Corey Williams - these guys are old and need to be put out to pasture.

Since this thread is in desperate need of a hijacking, does anyone else think it's completely absurd that a play in the end zone is only reviewed if it's ruled a touchdown?  50/50 call by an official, and what he decides, determines whether it's reviewed or not.  Call it a score and they'll review it; call it incomplete and they won't.  How silly.  By this logic, the official should be instructed to always call a completed catch in a situation like that so that it can be reviewed, or else do as the announcers suggested and review any close play in the end zone.  We wuz robbed.  AGAIN.

(this is why I don't apologize at all for the missed facemask in the Minny game.  3 of 4 bad calls go against us, every time.)

I never understood this myself. If we're going to strive to get the damn calls right, then why must a play in the end  zone be ruled a touchdown on the field to get a review? It's an excellent question. Close plays in the endzone happen numerous times each week, I am sure, and this basically means that about only MAYBE half of them, on average, are probably reviewed. It is pretty ludicrous. If the league was really concerned about what those on the front lines, if you will, thought then they would consider reviewing any close play.

If they do the season ticket holders conference call with the commish again next year, I am gonna bug Goodell about it.  I get that they don't want the game interrupted numerous times with video replay but it wouldn't exactly be an earthshattering thing to add to the auto-review.

Could be the Post of 2012 even though we're not even one day in: "You know, sometimes you don't HAVE to post everything that pops into your head."

I really enjoy this blog. I would enjoy it 100% more without useless posts about Detroit pro teams. There are other blogs for that. Don't try to relate this to UM with a weak reference to a recent coach, especially when you don't spell his first name correctly.

I grew up there and still love it. I've always been a Michigan fan and didn't get much crap for it other than on game day. That, I'm afraid, is getting to be much worse than ever for opposing fans. The UW students are trying to be Ohio fans.
