3 is nice but we gotta keep this up for a while before the state is "ours," so to speak. Kind of like their football team and how 4 wins doesnt mean a lot in the big picture-- gotta respect what they've done as a program and deliver consistently before we can say it's back in our favor- but it definitely seems like we're headed that way.

Izzo is such a clown, he has essential owned us on the court and recruiting. Things are changing, but the man is a hell of a coach and deserves our respect. You can't say that MSU isn't the top program in BBall while simultaneously saying the UM is the top program in football.

In fact, your whole post is idiotic. MSU has won NCs in BBall and has done incredibly well in the tourney. We have just left a horrible period in our BBall history.

gosh....this board has turned into sparty football fan.....all i keep reading is how green or someone says wait till el. then we rip him for it. sounds like us saying wait till next year in aa. fact is the 2 major programs at both schools are good now. there wont be anymore blowouts for a long time.

So you don't see a difference between random Internet guy proclaiming "wait till next time" and Spartan senior leader of the basketball team Draymond Green guaranteeing a win and saying wait till next time?

When basketball is viewed as post Fab-5, then Michigan has been terrible in basketball, directly as a result of the scandal (terrible coaches, no investment in facilities...). Therefore, MSU has "owned" Michigan, but that wasn't a fair fight. When you look a a broader period, Michigan fares better and now, after renovations, a PDC, and a good coach, times are a changing.

Early 2000s MSU was great. I think most would agree that they have regressed over the past 4-5 years.

They only have one outright (and one shared) Big Ten title in the past ten years. It's not like they are dominating

Basically Izzo took advantage of UofMs sanctions and inept coaching in the late 90s and maximized it. They parlayed it into one of the easiest paths to the NCAA title the tournament has seen. After Beilein came to town and Michigan showed a pulse, MSU became a lot less scary

In many ways Izzo under performed when you consider the elite recruits head had versus his rather small list of championships. He gets a lot of credit (rightfully so) for his final fours, but he doesn't get much criticism for the other shortcomings.

After reading some of his other post game comments he has lost some of my respect, but he's never been a player to go out of his way and trash the opposition. He always seems to be pretty well spoken, and if I'm remembering correctly he had a blog on ESPN last year which was always a good read.

Think I said the same in the Beilein topic too (or at least I was thinking the same). But really, I don't see any other MSU players whining. I actually find most of the other Spartans more likeable than Draymond.

Appling seems like a good kid and is a baller

Nix just seems slow, like a bumbling gentle giant

Payne is good, haven't seen him do anything worth hating

I think Trice will be a thorn in our side for years to come

I just don't like Green.

and had charges been filed and allegations were true, neither would be playing at Michigan State University either. If Korie Lucious gets dismissed from the team for getting behind the wheel while drunk, you know damn well these 2 guys would be gone for something as heinous as sexual assualt. I've read the police report. It is very graphic. If what the victim is alleging is true, I do wish she came forward and pressed charges, because they shouldn't be able to get away with something like that....if true.

1) As an FYI, a victim can't simply "press charges" and have those charges automatically exist. A prosecutor has to file those charges (which may also occur against the wishes of the victim). So, the lack of charges in any situation often speaks more to the insufficiency of evidence (in the eyes of the prosecutor), rather than a determination that the alleged criminal is innocent.

2) You're right that there may well be things we don't know about this, and speculation helps no one. As such, I declare this discussion dead.

You are correct. Pardon my lack of legal-whimsicalness. From the reports that I have read, 3 different prosecutors read the reports, spoke to the victim, and decided not to press charges.....and the victim agreed as with that stance as well. Of course, this is all heresay based on what's published in various publications. I agree that nothing good will come from speculation. No further comment.

That is why Green is such a cry baby. I do respect Izzo for the accomplishments of Lil Bro; however, I do not respect the mannor in which he got there.

Did anyone see him crying to the ref last night on the over-and-back? The ball CLEARLY hit the players foot and we did not touch it. So how and why was Izzo crying about it? He is less than 30 feet from the play. How does he not see that?

The answer is that he DID see it but was hoping that he could get the ref to change the call. It was a critical point in the game and he knew it. So how is that class or deserving of respect?

He was at the center of the almost-brawl during the handshakes last year along with Lucas and Morris. He has established a reputation as possibly the whiniest player in the conference. Didn't check out his blog last year but everything I've seen would indicate that DG has a notable LACK of class.

Before the game, we were all heckling Green from the student section saying that he averaged six points per game versus Michigan in his career. He turned to the Maize Rage and said "I'm gonna average 30 points tonight!" Needless to say, with seven points, he failed to "average" 30 points tonight...

My current roommate was Green's math turtor when Green was a freshman, he said Green was the stupidest student he ever taught. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP, It IS THE TRUTH. P.S. If you guys think Draymond is smart, I do not mind.

not to be overly stereotypical, but he is from Saginaw high. I did my student teaching in that school and all the veteran teachers said he wasn't bright. and not to get too personal but I thought his little brother and without getting into to many details he was about as slow as they come. no surprise here.

"and not to get too personal but I thought his little brother and without getting into to many details he was about as slow as they come. no surprise here."

You are getting way too personal. There is no reason to trash Green's brother.

When commenting on the supposed stupidity of another individual, do not lead off with,"My current roommate was Green's math turtor..." Of course, had you spelled 'tutor' correctly, you'd still be posting something that is both pointless and of questionable truthfulness, but you'd look a little less idiotic.

Man Izznot sure likes to bitch to the refs alot, even after his big men kept getting away with bumping our guys at the top of the key on attempted picks by U-M.

Also, hey Draymond, when you score 7 pts in a game that means you averaged 7 pts that night. It's very simple really, since you don't have to divide by more than 1, you take 7pts (which is not 30, btw) and divide that by one, see cause that's how many games you played tonight.

You're welcome Draymond, the brainy one that you are. Now go have a bowl of STFU!!!!

"Michigan State plays Michigan again on Feb. 5 in East Lansing. Less than 15 minutes after Tuesday night's game ended and Green had missed a potential game-winner with seconds left, he already knew when the teams would play again. "

I also want to apologize to ESPN because at this point that entire post has basically has been copied.

You know those guarantees never work...I would take Rasheed's over Draymond's.

P.S. After tonight the most he can get is a lilttle one, and still less than lilttle three.
