Great Quote by Illinois DC

Illinois DC, Vic Koenning-

"They get you in a run, run, run mode then they drop back and hit a pass on you. They had us running around and not doing anything well."

That about sums up our offense...

I also enjoyed how the article started:

"It was a dejected and distraught Illinois defensive coordinator that addressed the media after watching his team get torched by the Michigan offense for 676 yards. First-year D.C. Vic Koenning had just witnessed his 15th-ranked defense get shellacked by U-M when he met the press."

During the first half David Brandon was on the radio with Beckman and Brandstatter, as he was leaving the radio booth he said "I have to go check the scoreboards and make sure they're getting enough power".

I took my 10 year old to the game.  And I swear to God he asked me before the game....

"Dad, what would happen to the scoreboard if a team scored 100 points?"  At first I laughed and told him that no one has scored 100 points in a game in a really long time.....

Then my brother and I looked at each other and and just pondered the thought for a moment....

After the game, here is the summary I have....

Hmmmmm.....67 points with 5 turnovers, a missed FG, 4 missed points at the end of the 1st half,

I guess DB is going back to his spec sheet for the new scoreboards and altering one of the requirements to allow a 3rd digit for scoring and a 4th one for yardage....

I'd imagine (or at least hope) not. Illinois' defense has been good all season, and that's coming off a terrible previous season. Not only are they performing at a pretty high level, but to turn it around that much that quickly is impressive (even if they did get lit up this weekend).

EDIT: Upon a second reading of your comment, it seems like you were joking. My bad. I'm still leaving my serious response, though.

Denard must have had them in a "run run run mode" before the game even started because his passer rating required the use of scientific notation after the first play of the game.

it's a great feeling to see knowing that Michigan can score at any time.  Illni fans are in despair just like us whenever we watch our defense on the field, knowing that the opposing offense is going to score.

This guy is a quality DC and has fielded outstanding defensive units wherever he goes.  To make him speechless is all we need to know about Michigan offense.

The scary thing about Michigan offense is they haven't been close to their potential.  The rest of the DC especially in the Big 10 are frightened at the possibility of Michigan offense getting better even when they're already the best in the Big 10 and among the top 5 in the country.

I was half expecting him to go all TP and talk about beating us nine out of ten games.  Of course, Pryor butchered his comments and Illinois is actually a quality institution.  Props to him for speaking his mind.

Then all of these bad feelings will quickly vanish...

We torched them, and not because they are a bad defense...  Our offense is outstanding and has a ton of upside...

We just need a defense that can get stops...  don't need shutouts, just a few punts.  Saturday was a huge improvement when you look at the number of stops, and the 5 turnovers they had to overcome...  Just need to improve to lay one on the vest...

slow down opposing teams, including OSU.  Terrelle Pryor stats for that game, went as

9-16 76 yards 2TD and 1 INT

did have 104 yards rushing however. but nothing like Denard or Tate

The Wolverines hit on 22 of 39 passes for 419 yards. Zook stated earlier in the week that he was surprised at how well Robinson passes the ball.

"We certainly were surprised to see that, but they executed their routes well and were hard to tackle. We missed tackles we normally make," he said. " We just couldn't match their intensity."
I like it.

But after being at the game last year at Champaign Urbana, and putting up with the nastiness of their fans, and losing after pretty much owning them in the first half...

Fuk'm.

Next year lets lay 70 on them and hold them to 20.
