14. The Westerlands/House Lannister= MICHIGAN

The Westerlands/House Lannister= MICHIGAN

They are the champions of the west. They are leaders and legends. They have too much money, with no idea on what to do with it. They have good people and bad people among them, but ultimately, both U of M and the Lannisters are in a lot of trouble. Lately, things have NOT been going too well for either of the two. Being embarrassed by practically every other faction (B1G team) and being upstaged by the Tyrells (MSU) seems to have taken its toll, and its apparent that the end of their once-great empires will soon be upon them. Granted, there are a few favorites in the bunch, but its safe to say that not everyone is sad to see these guys go.

This is actually a fair assessment of Michigan football at the moment.  Hopefully our "apparent end" is not happening any time soon.

A case could also be made that OSU is the Lannisters: conniving, full of riches, willing to do whatever is necessary for glory.

I'd argue that Penn State is house Stark - formerly great, but in pieces after a total disaster.

Michigan could be Baratheon, or Stark, but what's interesting is the possibility of being house Targaryen - A ruling faction of conquerors, taken over by a mad king whose death gave rise to the Lannisters' reign. Now - one of the last surviving of its generation is in exile, gathering an army to regain the throne that is rightfully theirs.

I don't think about this stuff a lot, though.

"Unwary factions (teams) will always fall victim to their traps."

This sentence concerns me a bit admittedly. Does Beckman have any traps that work on a reliable basis? I mean, he is definitely not the Zooker and would not (I assume) punt on 3rd and 4 at his opponent's 32 (also known as being "Ferentz'd", of course).

Michigan is so the Starks.

Trying to be honorable about shit and just getting kicked in the nuts for it while all the cheaters and cynics prosper.

Nevermind.

Anyway, I didn't realize this would read like a comic strip:

Rutgers:  No one knows much about them but they could be dangerous.

There was an article (which I can't find now, I think it got taken down), which had every B1G school as a GOT character.  We were Jaime Lannister, Ohio was Joffrey and MSU was Theon.

Perfect choices in my opinion, mostly because Jaime's my favorite character in the series , and he (current Jaime, not season begin of series pre-hand removal Jaime) fits UofM's awesomeness/touch of arrogance but going through hard times, we have going on.

...they wear red, and still in charge but looking a bit shaky. Like the article I had MSU as the Tyrells (upstarts, wear green) and Neb as the Martells (geographically isolated, last to join up) but PSU as the Starks (once strong, now picking up the pieces), Illinois as the Tullys (screwed), and M as the Night's Watch (up north, not as strong as we used to be).
