The bit about the cell phone
The bit about the cell phone battery dying was great. Although if my son were unexpectedly out there on the field, I am not sure I'd answer the phone.

Other than the fact that he watched Rudy for inspiration, I liked it.

to use a RR phrase if Kovacs keeps performing well enough to earn a scholarship and at least continue to get some PT when younger, likely more physically gifted guys, come in behind him. UofM's version of Jim Leonhard (doesn't have Leonhard's speed obviously, but he's a little bigger).
