Darn it I was just about to start this thread.

I'd rather be called a work-a-holic in the sexology field.

THE PHANTOM EDITOR STRIKES AGAIN! HAHA YOUR COMMENT MAKES NO SENSE!!!
January 29th, 2011 at 11:58 PM ^
No need to shout. I am a hard working German like yourself sir.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
Ha I'm actually of Polish descent. Close!

and I am a Michigan Grad living in Columbus, this video seems to be sending me strange symbolic messages. I seems like some strange futuristic vision showing that Michigan is great and in control. OSU is the evil empire but we are in charge. Freedom and liberty belong to us and we are taking over the Evil Empire. Sounds like a great future to me. However, videos with attractive women are much easier to interpret.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:26 AM ^
I never quite noticed the strong maize-and-blue vs. scarlet-and-gray theme until I re-watched the video tonight. Frankly, my mind was blown, in a good way.
I am also a Michigan grad living in Columbus. We should go get a beer sometime.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:43 AM ^
Those of us behind enemy lines must stick together.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:53 AM ^
For sure. I went to the last alumni meeting at the Refrectory and there were about 40-50 grads who showed up. Mostly middle-aged people but there were a few young 'uns here and there. I think there's more of us around then people realize.
January 29th, 2011 at 11:58 PM ^
Nice to start with a pic that's NOT the Hoke Poke..Weather feel's like the part in Groundhog Day where Bill Murray gets up and the weather guy is saying "It's cold out here" and I'm thinking "It's always cold out here"..
January 30th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
Anyone stumbling through Silver Lake tonight...I may wind up at the Griff. Woo hoo. Can't wait for the recruiting news this week. Feels like Christmas.
I like this Hoke-o-Mania stuff. It took some time to warm up to it but I'm around 75% there. Speaking of warming up...where's my Crown Royale w/Cheese?
Go blue. Out.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:00 AM ^
One of the greatest football movies ever.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:09 AM ^
Doesn't do anything for me ever since I saw the deleted scene where they talk about going to tOSU to play for Hayes.
Completely ruined the movie...
January 30th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Remember the Titans was dead to me from that day forward.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
Blue Dragon-I can't think of one Pet Shop Boys song that isn't great. Makes me think of big haired slutty girls and the 80's..
January 30th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
My brothers had a couple of their albums on cassette and I listened to them around the clock when I was a kid, along with some Tool, Rammstein, other Generic 90s Techno groups, and Grunge to Alt rock from the era. It was a fun childhood.
I picked this one because of the maize n blue vs. scarlet and grey color scheme and because it was my favorite song on the album.
In the future, you can click the "Reply" on the bottom of the post and it'll be threaded right below the original comment. (It doesn't really matter to me but it does make the comments easier to rea.)
January 30th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
My bad.. I had the "greatest hits" CD and wore it out. My older sister had the cassettes (had to check the spelling on that word) that I used to "borrow".

24 degrees F and snow here in Wellsboro, PA.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:01 AM ^
One of my best friends is from Wellsboro PA.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:07 AM ^
No shit?! Small world!
January 30th, 2011 at 1:15 AM ^
As soon as I typed that I realized I should have typed "fraternity brother" because we're very different (and he's a PSU fan, though rational) and don't always get along, but yea.
He would have been out of school before you were there (you're a teacher, right?) but he frequents the bars around there, I believe.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:20 AM ^
Frequents the Wellsboro bars? PSU fan? You guys couldn't convince him that inbreds of West Virginia escape to State College to mate with cousins or distant variety instead of close ones?
January 30th, 2011 at 1:22 AM ^
Hey, WVU fans have no problem with distant cousins. No life guards at the gene pool, 'knaw meen?
January 30th, 2011 at 1:25 AM ^
I got you. If your buddy frequents Wellsboro bars, tell him I am usually in Michigan gear or wearing a 1970s leather Montana coat made for ranchers.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:27 AM ^
Just went to Facebook chat him but apparently he's "responsible" and is "not getting wasted even though the g/f is in bed and you're totally drinking by yourself" tonight.
He's the 6'5, 280 unathletic ginger, which might ring a bell if you have been there for long.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:42 AM ^
I will have to keep my eye open. If he lives in Wellsboro, he is drinking, but just pretending not to see his alerts on Facebook.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:45 AM ^
+1 from someone who halfway understands your comment.
What are you doing tonight by the way? Other than commenting on everyone else being slightly out of their normal state of mind.
January 30th, 2011 at 1:53 AM ^
I decided to get drunk at my apt. watching Restrepo and Four Brothers then get on MGoBlog. Yourself?
January 30th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
G/f wanted The Fox and the Hound. Mysteriously my iTunes wasn't working and we ended up watching South Park episodes.
She's gone to bed and I'm working on the Shocktop because I feel guilty drinking the good stuff without being able to taste the good parts.
Haven't seen Restrepo, is it straight documentary or does it have a message?
January 30th, 2011 at 2:06 AM ^
Very Documentary. The book is better, but this really gives you a very slim visual of how these guys live for 15 months in the Korengal Valley. I'd recommend. It isn't Hollywooded up.
January 30th, 2011 at 2:12 AM ^
Awesome, thanks. Have you read/heard of One Bullet Away? A little off of the stuff you're watching but still very good. Mostly having to do with the wars on the ground from a young leader's perspective. If you haven't heard of it and seen (or read) Generation Kill, he's the LT.
January 30th, 2011 at 2:12 AM ^
I haven't. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the tip!
January 30th, 2011 at 2:16 AM ^
Not trying to act like a salesman but it's incredible.
Guy graduates from Dartmouth after completing Marine OCS and makes Infantry, which is really hard to do, then ends up being some of the first boots on the ground in Afghanistan. Makes Marine Recon and ends up being the LT in charge of the northernmost force in Iraq during the invasion. Incredible story.
Generation Kill was Rolling Stone/HBO, great docu-drama or whatever the hell they call it.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:01 AM ^
If I'm wearing two belts. That ever happen to any of you?
January 30th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
No, but if a drunk Sparty girl falls, does anyone care?
January 30th, 2011 at 12:06 AM ^
What is the chances Blue gets it together and makes the dance? Is beating MSU enough momentum?
January 30th, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
Unless we pull of a sick ass kill streak.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
You dont think our record and qaulity wins (i know its not to impressive now, but before big ten tourney) can get us in? What kind of record do you think we will have pre-big ten tourney?
January 30th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
At the very least we need to get above .500 in B10 play and make some noise in the B10 tourney. It would be a great start If we could somehow beat tSIO on Thursday (on national tv), but I think last game was our shot to beat them... you don't get a lot of opportunities like that during a season. Hopefully I'm wrong though..
January 30th, 2011 at 1:53 AM ^
Your first part isn't in dispute, but in regards to your second part: you never know. Sometimes teams/coaches just have the opposing team/coaches number.
Purdue did well against us for a long time, Brian Kelly can always outsmart the Stache, Northwestern wins a couple every year that has everyone scratching their heads. It's always the particular game.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:05 AM ^
How the hell do you think it is? It's late January in Michigan! IT'S COLDER THAN A WITCHES TIT!
January 30th, 2011 at 12:08 AM ^
Shit son, link?

It may be cold in Ann Arbor, but a couple of "Hello" posts would sure warm it up!
January 30th, 2011 at 12:13 AM ^
Though at this stage it is very unlikely until NSD. I'm optomistic that we could get one before, but am not counting on it.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:16 AM ^
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think Rawls was tentative to announce tomorrow (the 31st). I'm assuming his decision will depend on whether he's finally got a committable offer.
January 30th, 2011 at 12:25 AM ^
This site says he changed his date to NSD....Under the title "Quick Hitters"... http://mgorecruit.blogspot.com/
January 30th, 2011 at 12:30 AM ^
Cool. Then yeah, we might as well twiddle our thumbs until Wednesday.
