Per UM: Graham Glasgow has been suspended for a portion of spring football, will miss season opener for a violation of "team expectations"

EDIT: Also being reported by ESPN.
Pancaked Glasgow at a camp last year. His legs got crossed a bit so it was lucky but we like to ignore that when we watch the video over and over again.
that's comforting to hear.
p.s. when is your son eligible?
Come on guys. He's a young man. Is everyone here a perfect role model? No. Stop judging the guy and just let it be. You can't fix it. There's tons of talent there be positive and someone will step up.
MLive had part of Hoke's statement, if anyone is interested. It doesn't give much insight, of course, but there is something on record out there all the same - LINK
"Each of our young men understands the standard we expect of them," Hoke said in a written statement. "It's one that represents this great program and university, as well as their family and teammates. When their actions don't reflect that standard, it's very disappointing, and we must hold them accountable for their decision while helping them learn a valuable life lesson."
Is that a FERPA violation?
Hoke Vague? How could that be?
panic and run around screamin' yet?
Is that a Bonnie in your avatar?
it is

Beautiful bike. I bought a scrambler a couple of months ago - just now getting to ride it. She will go!
Not allowed unfortunately. Hey, a guy's gotta relax a little.
Can't hear you. Still basketball season.
I have been pining for some football news, guess I asked for it
Sure wish Bo was still coaching, I suspect there would be a little less monkey business going on.
I suspect there is significantly less monkey business going on than at a lot of other schools. It's just that the monkey business on this team actually gets punished.
Punishment isn't letting a DUI go with a 1 game suspension. I suppose it's all relative, but I'd like to think we are above the moral baseline.
It's a completely different era.
Bo would have the same struggles with todays student-athlete.
Nick Saban does, Urban Meyer does, Mark Dantonio does, every coach in college football does. Bo would be no different.
On the flip side, Hoke would get to benefit from the 60s/70s/80s student-athlete and not the pesonalities of today.
This could really open the door for Kugler to steal the starting spot depending on the details of the suspension in terms of length and level of participation.
because it is wonderful to have a redshirt Freshman playing interior line - much less the center
Who cares, we're a basketball school anyway...
Thank god we have a damn good basketball team to take our minds off of this. With this football team it seems like it's one shitstorm after another.
Gotta wonder why kids do what they do.
Not good
Glasgow? Are you sure they said Glasgow? Guy seems like nothing but good.
I have placed a personal moratorium on caring about the football program until its coaching staff and adminstration demonstrate that they are competent. So to this I say, Oh well!
Logical choice by you.
I've also put a personal moratorium on caring about personal shots from anonymous internet folks.
Moratorium doesn't include statements made by you?
So how many years of approved performance by you will Hoke and DB need to have before they win your affections back? I'm assuming of course they had them the first year and lost them last year. I get it sometimes I make too fast judgements too.
Wow. Chill man. I am not your enemy.
Just pointing out something important in my opinion.
Someone is going crazy with the down votes this thread
It seemed like the kind of thing that we'd want to discuss.
Is they don't suspend him from Practice*. Agree the ultimate goal is to play in the games, but he can still go learn and grow. Glad its an "internal" thing almost nobody knows about rather than a public "law enforcement" type issue.
* and if they did, I bet they don't suspend him from "Workouts" such as go run 100 laps around the field while thinking of your transgressions and watching your fellow players practice, etc...
But he will miss out on 3-4 weeks of practice reps as the "starter" in a new offensive scheme.
A day will come when news regardig the offensive line will be good. I am anxiously awaiting that day.
hate to see any kind of suspension but atleast i hope this means patrick kugler will be given a chance to start. if he's our center of the future id rather the future start sooner then later.
I'd rather it start when it's ready and not forced.
There is no reason to fear Appalachian State. We have never lost to them twice in a row.
Don't tempt the football gods, please. We had no reason to fear them in 2007 when we opened the season ranked top five. Gack. Hexes on you, even though I know you're joking.
It was an elaborate anti-Michigan media hoax, perpetrated with CGI and a massive disinformation campaign.
Anyone presenting any kind of "evidence" or "eyewitness testimony" to the contrary is just part of the cover-up.
I was really wondering if we would be better off with Kugler anyway.
If the kid is ready this will be his shot to take over at center. Kugler came in with some pretty strong hype was this will be interesting.
Glasgow must not have executed very well.
