GOT season 7 episode 5! East watch

Submitted by jdon on

Whats up?

After last weeks episode I am expecting the action to continue right from the begining to end.

I realized we only have three episodes left this year, so does that mean next week is the 'surprise' week?  Personally I expect non stop action...

I'm still hoping Jamie ends up on the throne!

&

I'm praying Tormund survives!

This may be the first time the show has portrayed Littlefinger accurately since they stopped using Martin's material. He is certainly a character they have struggled with. But this is classic LF. He planted the exact thing he wanted Arya to read and is sewing all sorts of discontent and chaos.

I'll be mad if Jamie's not dead. An exhausted large man in 50-100 lbs. of armor in 10 or more feet of water is almost certain to drown. If it just opens with Bronn dragging him on shore like no biggie, I'll be pissed. Only a major immediate effort by Dany could save him.

Oh, I don't think they're gonna kill him off. I just think it'll be a poor job if they don't find some exceptional way to save him. One guy - like an exhausted Bronn, wearing metal himself - could never get the Jon done. I think Cersei has Drogon save him, or he's dead...

did they have Bronn dragging him to shore like it was no biggie, there wasn't a soul in sight!!

Bronn doesn't wear armor so he could have theoretically saved him right there but dragging him hundreds of yards down river underwater?!?! Whaaaaat? That was insane.

The problem with the show pacing this quickly (and going off Martin's script) is there are some major leaps, reaches and holes this season.

Hopefully all his notes, ideas, & final plans are to be sent to Brandon Sanderson upon his death.

I know the show runners have been told of his end game.. but who knows if that is the direction he still is taking his story at this point.

only 8 episodes left in the entire show, they don't have the luxury of set up episodes anymore. Last week was spectacular, but it did not really move things forward as much as it seems. They have a lot of strands still hanging out there. I think they need to hustle a little bit now. This was solid Thrones, but also a subtle loss of momentum that I did not see coming.

a lot happened this episode narratively, even if none of it was combat. We're set up for an action-packed next episode, even though it may be less advancing of the story.
