GopherQuest is over

Minnesota beats our next opponent Iowa 22-21 to end the quest of being the worst B1G team ever.

Did Iowa just stop recruiting a couple years ago?  How did that defense get that bad all of a sudden that they'd give up 22 to the gophers?  They've been lights out the past few years.  Or is it possible that Ricky Stanzi was as valuable to his team as Payton Manning was to the Colts?  Could be the only comparison ever to be drawn between the two.

At the game, it was a fun game to watch, there was a feeling that the Gophers could somehow win the game, two missed first half field goals certainly helped their cause and that onside kick was done to perfection. Gray ran a solid second half, including running it in for the game winning touchdown. Hard to say what read I got from Iowa, other than they have a sucky FG kicker.

Minnesota was never really an all-time worst candidate.   Their coach's health problems and the temporary loss of their starting QB (Gray) just seemed to take the fight out of them for a few weeks.  The Gopher team that played today looked a lot like the team that went to L.A. and nearly upset USC.

Iowa is going to come in pissed off next week. We need to carry over the momentum from the beating we gave the Boilermakers. If our offense plays mainly turnover free, we can win this game easily!
