Wow their rowing team also uses the horseshoe? Crazy

played in Ohio Stadium before they built their own. They haven't been there since the 90s, I think.

It was a joke. I know who The Columbus Crew are but "crew" can also the name of competitive team rowing.

I don't think it looks anything like a cooler.

rating is too high. I say we knock it down 4 and 1/2 stars to it's rightful place.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:17 PM ^
Larry Page must be behind this.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:20 PM ^
Lol the Columbus Crew DEFINITELY don't play there. This is awesome. I love google.

with a stuffed up, teething, ANGRY 6 month old today. I'm now laughing so hard my sides hurt. That must be funny, because I am in no mood for laughter

This is fantastic! But how in the world do people find these things? I mean, how often do you go searching for landmarks on Google Maps just to see what the description says?
February 21st, 2012 at 1:23 PM ^
This is absolutely fantastic. One of the benefits of founding Google is that you can trashtalk your rivals on the world's forefront maps service.

next time Larry Page posts on here I'll need to remember to give him a +1.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:24 PM ^
Does the description really say that??? Incredible!
February 21st, 2012 at 1:36 PM ^
TREMENDOUS!
February 21st, 2012 at 2:49 PM ^
Yes it does and yes it is! Awesomesauce.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:24 PM ^
is the address on Black and Gold blvd? I thought it was Ohio Stadium not Kinnick.
February 21st, 2012 at 2:28 PM ^
Apologies if my sarcasm meter is broken (that seems to be par for the course around here!), but in answer to your question: the Columbus Crew soccer team's colors are black and gold.
eta: I guess Ohio State really *is* that YouTube guy's #1 bathroom.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:25 PM ^
Someone made that comment in his review of the stadium and it was voted the most helpful. I think that's why it shows up; it has nothing to do with a google programmer.
February 21st, 2012 at 2:19 PM ^
Yes, the review is here (feel free to vote helpful).
February 21st, 2012 at 1:26 PM ^
Just an accurate description of their stadium.

I saw this on hot clicks on SI today, didn't have enough points to post it. That being said, glad it showed up!
February 21st, 2012 at 1:30 PM ^
I would crohn in that bowl so hard if I could.
February 21st, 2012 at 5:02 PM ^
American Standard makes a high-quality stadium that is perfect for any bathroom (and Columbus and its coolers definitely qualify).
February 21st, 2012 at 1:37 PM ^
Apparently the guy doesn't know that one of the founders of Google went to Michigan.
February 21st, 2012 at 2:36 PM ^
why are you looking at americas black hole on google maps
February 21st, 2012 at 2:48 PM ^
Well, its actually because that comment is marked most helpful. So go and posbang that review to kingdom come!
February 21st, 2012 at 3:00 PM ^
We really need to work hard to get the rating down lower. It is much too high. Join me in giving the Akron State tiolet bowl it's true earned rating.
February 21st, 2012 at 4:15 PM ^
I'm pretty sure all the toilet bowls in the world are insulted by this.
February 21st, 2012 at 7:29 PM ^
Might as well go take an Urban and wipe my Meyer.

I am extremely disappointed in the execution of this joke. To save me some time, I'll just link to my Reddit comment from the other night to explain what happened and why this is dumb and also Terrible Internet Behavior.
In short: whoever created this "review" is a moron because his total failure to use Google Maps properly has resulted in the internet propagation of a screenshot containing a not-particularly-clever putdown, PLUS a confusing-because-it's-wrong-and-ruins-the-joke label, all presumably at the hands of a Michigan fan. It just looks bad.
Also, this whole thing is turning into an exercise in Bad Internet Citizenship. It seems like the initial reviewer realized that he had reviewed the wrong stadium, so instead of finding Ohio Stadium and adding a review for it, he modified the entire Columbus Crew Stadium place page in Google Maps, and that half-implemented edit must be responsible for the mismatch between location and label in the screenshot seen above. I denied the place page modification because it was bogus and would inconvenience people who wanted to actually find Crew Stadium, but now there are 3+ duplicates of that denied edit because people who don't think "Also a den of cheaters." is a terrible diss are trying to recreate the magic of the screenshot that points to Ohio Stadium but calls it something completely different for some reason. Stop Doing That.

Here I thought it was a dreaded hive of scum and villiany....but I guess I was wrong.
