On a per touch basis over his career Reggie has been as productive as Adrian Peterson.

Granted Reggie was slanted more to passing and AP to running but the guy's body was the biggest issue.

Elite skill just not elite durability. Fun guy to watch when healthy though.

he'll sign for $1M, no bonus, no guaranteed & he'll NEVER get hurt. I swear, I'm not knocking injured athletes but some coaches/franchises are veteran "money havens" where you can go get paid & only play a few games a year. The team/staff don't care. Teams like NE, PITT, BALT, etc see guys come in as veteran FAs with a history of injury problems but suddenly never get hurt & have career years. NE does this better than anyone. They know when to let a good player go when they want mega money & they somehow talk very good FAs into taking huge paycuts to play there. Also, "bad character" guys will shut their mouths & suddenly be the ultimate team first player. If they leave is back to their old self but when in NE it's like they clone a Stepford Wife version of the guy, lol.

ESPN has some words from Mayhew here - LINK

"It's not about Reggie Bush. It's about the process of evaluating where you are as a football team," Mayhew said. "We have a bunch of meetings after the season. The coaching staff meets. The scouting department meets together and we evaluate everybody's performance.

As for money, this saves the Lions $1.7 million in cap room versus the cap charge of over $5 million had they kept him this year.

I heard Detroit might try for either Abdullah or Duke Johnson to replace him. Both solid choices, but with Riddick, I kind of hope they go for a bigger guy like Gordon or Tevin Coleman. I don't have as much faith in Bell as others I guess.
