well that's just, like, your opinion, man
that 12 seconds after that picture was taken Sad Keanu killed & ate that defenseless bird!
douche baggery is earned, never given. Congratulations. You've arrived.
Edit: Dammit, moderators. If you're going to delete a fuckstain's post you gotta delete the snarky rebuttals. Otherwise it looks like I'm dogging a legit post.
If so, you can still see caved posters replies, which might have been the issue. I know ZL was on a bit earlier, but I think it's just me otherwise and I haven't deleted any comments or banned anyone tonight.
I just wanna puke out of sadness.
That's true only if you are an MSU man.
No, its love.
Under the Lights my Heart still races
I love Denard as much as the next Michigan fan, but this should be Goodbye Seniors. Just my opinion I guess.
Denard was undoubtedly the face of the program the last few years and he will be missed by all. But I am excited to see where we go from here. All of the seniors played well and we will miss guys like Kovacs, Roh, Demens, etc. All of them made plays that I will remember for years.
No disrespect to the other seniors at all...Denard, I think, has a special spot in Michigan history
No argument from me. Just saying all of the seniors should be recognized, that's all.
there's a Thank You Team 133 post that should have about a hundred more posts in it, with special attention to seniors
This thread makes me so sad.
#16 = Michigan Legend
In the dark ages of Michigan football, Denard, you arose to provide us with hope and a future vision. You showed us that we would not quit, that we would struggle with everything we had, and we would never give up. For that, and for playing your heart and rear end off for the past 4 years, we thank you! You are what we hope and pray for every single Michigan student to be both today and in the future, someone who works hard and always does their best with a smile!
Hope to see your smiling face on Sundays next fall! You will be missed!
I dunno, I hope some of Michigan's future students are linemen and safeties. Also, pre-med types would be nice.
Since some scouts think Denard would make for a good NFL prospect at CB, it's too bad he wasn't one today. Lost this game getting torched for big plays in the secondary. Maybe Denard could have helped us? I am out of answers. I am just reaching at this point. Damn!!!
No, Denard was played exactly as he should have been. For that, he broke the career rushing record for a QB and made plays on offense. Personally, if Norfleet didn't make an appearance at CB in this game, I don't know as if anything would have changed. The secondary got torched and that's that.
Who's cutting onions?
get torched for this, but there's a little part in this staff they would never admit that's happy he's done. He just doesn't "fit" and it's been a struggle for Borges/Hoke to use him successfully.
Not why that fits in this thread. Whatever.
Not going to "torch" you, just want to completely invalidate your point. Denard is the career FBS rushing yardage record holder for a QB.
This staff decided to make and keep him as their starter despite having every opportunity to watch Devin Gardner play, until it was not physically possible for him to play the position.
They liked Denard as a QB that much more, in fact, that they moved Gardner to WR and eventually had him stop practicing QB AT ALL.
Additionally, the decision to run this hodgepog offense had some to do with the personnel available and the desire to win immediately. Was Denard the center of that decision? Absolutely. But he was not the only reason. If they didn't run any of the spread, there would have been several more losses the last 2 years.
Even if they didn't want to have Denard play QB, I can guarantee they would have played him at some position.
He is a top 10 athlete in the entire country, and there isn't a coach in America that would be happy that he is leaving their team. The only coaches happy that Denard is graduating are opponents.
see you at the crossroads...
b-b-b-bone-bone-bone-bone-bone . . .
You will be greatly missed. Hard to imagine Michigan football without you.
................you represented yourself and the University of Michigan with class. Continued success!
Not to be overly-dramatic, but this post captures it perfectly. FUCK I'm going to miss that guy.
What a bittersweet moment; it just kind of hit me that there are many players we won't be seeing again in that jersey (or mutiple horrible jerseys).
Farewell Robinson, Rountree, Kovacs, and company
That will become one of my favorite NFL teams.
Thank you Denard for keeping Michigan football afloat during some very rough years. This program wouldn't be the same without you.
Thanks and Congrats on a great career. Please tie your shoes in the NFL, I promise it will be helpful. Also don't talk to strangers and don't forget your lunch.
Don't go to sleep with your hair wet. ...
Your beautiful dreadlocked hair...
going to miss that kid.
Glad I had a chance to see Denard in person. From his first run against Western to the win over Ohio to the clutch 4th qtr completion against State.
To all the seniors, THANKS!
There is a wall in my house, that has some of the greatest Michigan players on it. Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, Harry Newman, Tom Harmon, Mike Hart, Tom Brady, Braylon Edwards, A-Train and others.
Denard now has a spot on that wall. Along with Roundtree and his amazing catch against northwestern.
I now have to change my signature being that Roy Roundtree never wore the #1. He did wear #21 which is now more valuable being it has Legend status.
Anyways. Thank you Denard. You'll never be forgotten and when I'm an old fart I'm certain I'll be telling my kids or grandkids stories about some of your games.
around Senior Day, I think you should give TheBigAC's thread a read. Not quite the same since the season is officially done, but the sentiment is perfect and it still relates to emotions like we're feeling and discussing today.
Denard is a fantastic player but he's even a greater Michigan Man because of his character and integrity.
wife got a little teared up when they showed him coming off the sidelines (AGAIN) after the last play.
thanks for everything denard. good luck getting ready for the combine, you represented us well and gave us a reason to believe during some dark times.
So did I. One of my favorite wolverines ever. A great player, but more importantly, a great person.
An irrational part of me was hoping this day would not come, but it has - Denard's final game as a Wolverine is now in the books. It is a shame it couldn't be on a higher note.
Thank you, Denard Robinson, for being one of the most electrifying and galvanizing players ever to don the winged helmet. Without necessarily wanting to be, you became the face of this program, the face of its resurgence and a mentor to those coming into the program. Your on the field feats were spectacular, and your off the field persona showed people everything that was great about being a "Michigan Man". It was an honor to see you play in person here and there for these last four seasons. Good luck and congratulations.
To all the seniors, your dedication to this program and your willingness to stay through change says much about your character and your commitment to this team, and it is all positive at that. Congratulations on your impending (or very recent, depending on the semester) graduations and good luck in all that you do.
is one of the greatest player on and off the field for The University of Michigan. I would like to say Thank You #16 for all the memories. A true Michigan Man.
He literally killed the lil man.
That I was Smith, and I thought it was Denard. Screaming I WILL F'N KILL YOU CLOWNEY! at the tv my family all think I need therapy.....
...for most distance travelled by a football helmet when removed from a player's head by the impact of an on-field tackle? It has to have been set today. The fact that he could get up and walk off the field after that is amazing to me.
Best of luck in the future, Denard! You gave your all and are truly one of the MIchigan greats!
Now I need to go listen to Bone Thugz and Boyz 2 Men.
A # 16 Legends Jersey some day?
Between your 'stop' post and this one, how about you go adopt some kids to get the patronizing out of your system with and spare us?
That's affirmative, captain.
But would I really hope that for anyone?
And finally I said to him, "maybe all I know about Denard is that he was a fine football player."
"You know more than that," my father said; "he was beautiful."
obscure movie reference, glad this ones not accompanied by every bone in his hand being broken, althought it might be fitting.....
......if cool kids double post, consider me miles Davis.....
A lifetime of rooting for Michigan, and I've never found myself rooting for a single individual as much as I've come to root for Denard. I was at the Western game for that amazing first play ever, at the UConn game for his breakout first start, at Under The Lights where I lost my voice, and many other great moments.
My favorite player of all time. Will miss you, man. Good luck in The League.
Quick story. After the 2012 spring game Denard and Fitz were running off the field together. Fitz made a half-hearted effort to slap at a couple of fans' extended hands. Denard went out of his way to give a "real" slap to many hands that were extended. It was all live on camera, but I doubt that's why he did it. Dude is the real deal as a person in addition to his football prowess.
It's so haaarrdddd to say goodbyeeee to yesterdayyyy
Today and against Ohio. I think that he increased his stock a ton in the past two games.
I still have a broken, irrational hope that he'll be drafted by the Lions, even though I know it's all the wrong things.
I only wish getting drafted by the lions for buckeyes and spartys.
What has he ever done to you?
Megatron and having Stafford throwing Denard the ball. Denard would be Starscream to CJ's Megatron.
Then he can watch the defense give up 40 points. Lions are a death trap for a nfl career. Even Barry Sanders knew this.
The GM side of my brain says that he could fill a lot of the same roles that Javhid Best was prior to the brain pan going soft. The Denard side of my brain says "I hope he goes to the Patriots or Colts or pretty much anyone not in the NFC North".
I love that kid. He is special. But his classmates and the class before them are both special groups. They showed heart and guts and have set the stage for great things to come.
fabulous. Denard was frustrating. Denard was awesome. Denard was sometimes awful.
Denard made me as happy as any player ever. Denard made me as sad as any player ever.
He was always a class act and made me proud of the team i root for every year.
I am 54 and not afraid to say i have tears in my eyes knowing i will never get to root for my Wolverines with Denard on the field again.
Bless you young man. Thank you for a life-time of memories.
I hope you make a fortune in the NFL.
I will NEVER forget the excitement of watching Denard take the field and the thrills he gave so many of us.
I agree completely - I'm even 54 myself. Great post.
My favorite Wolverine ever, and I've never seen a more exciting player. A true Michigan man.
This 1000x. One of the more dynamic players this team has seen.
Amazing athlete and exciting as hell in the open field.
Great leader and program ambassador.
He'll be greatly missed.
Sorry, I forgot how to embed.
A true M man. He set all kinds of records and when he was injured never complained about his new role on the team. Best of luck in your future as a M grad!
Goodbye Denard. I was at that special game in 2009 when you showed us all what you were made of on your first touch. Good luck on Sundays, wherever you play.
I always go "Denard!" when Josh Cribbs returns punts for Cleveland, as Cribbs also wears #16 and has dreads.
I wanted Denard to move to Receiver/Return Man//// etc two years ago. I don't think that would have netted us 11 wins last year but I think that it would have netted us more this year.
However, not since Barry Sanders have I watched a player with as much anticipation that he could go to the house TD. He was simply riveting and N F L GMs will see the value in that ($).
Also, he was to my kids what AC #1 was to me.
From what I understand he's a great human being. So, many thanks young man.
He now is a member of the Immortals. That distinguished hall of few that counts among its members men with the names of Harmon, Ooosterbaan, Carter, Howard, and Woodson.
Where before we debated whether he ought to be a QB or RB we now are left to debate who was the greatest Wolverine to hail from Florida. The debate is one of not of the present, but of all time.
AC or Shoelace. Take your pick.
AC was a three-time All American and generally considered one of (if not the) best college Wrs of the 80's.
The electricity he brought to the Big House equalled what Shoelace has given us these past four years.
Denard joins the list of my all-time favorites but he doesn't quite reach the rarefied air that AC did.
As an OSU fan, I'm glad to see you go. As a B1G fan, I'll miss seeing you out there. Good luck in the NFL, hope you latch on somewhere.
Hester "may retire" after Lovie got the boot. Denard would be a nice upgrade over what Hester produced this year.
There's never been another quite the same.
Tough tough loss today. Sucks fror Denard to go out like that. We are going to miss that guy. May not see someone with his skillset in a while. Ugh.
I am going to miss the most
Still wearing my Denard jersey. I think this is the most I will miss a player since CWebb left early.
Denard is carrying a lot less "baggage".
and best of luck to you in all your bright future holds. we'll miss you in the winged helmet Denard.
Thanks Denard, and all the seniors that represented our school...and did it well
Outside of ending OSU streak, I can put aside my differences to say I enjoyed Denard playing. Best game was probably the Notre Dame game in 2011 to me. I like Denard off the field more, very interesting life as presented by MgoVideos and the Journey.
But I wish he would've put up better accuracy numbers and passing yardages, to gain more recognition, so debates wouldn't have to be made about how he can't hang with Michigan Elite's because of his lack of awards
so I'll join the chorus & hope I contribute one more voice to those who say thank you to Denard for staying with us through thick & thin. You weren't perfect but I have no doubt you gave us your all & for that we are grateful.
it was one hell of a ride Mr. Robinson, you are a legend to many of us. Like many others have said, thank you.
Thank you denard for everything! Finally got that tag for your Pontiac.....lol just kidding. I cant wait to see you torch guys on a punt return.
Thanks Denard for everything u did at Michigan. I dont thik any michigan player will ever have as many electrifying plays as u did. One day ill tell my kids bout the great Denard Robinson and how amazing it was to watch him in person! Good Luck in the NFL!!! Go Blue!
It has been a privilege to watch Denard the last four years. I have been fortunate enough to have season tickets and watch Denard in person. Sometimes I don't think we all appreciated how truly great Denard is.
We ma never see a phenomenon like Denard in our lifetimes (hope I'm wrong).
I think a special "Thanks" is fitting.
Thank you for leaving family and home to spend 4 years with us in the frigid north. Thank you for staying when you could have left. Thank you for the class, humility and joy you brought each and every time that you interacted with us. Thank you for the excitement and anticipation that something special was about to happen every game, every time you touched the ball. Thank you for never changing who you are in 4 years: your smile, humbleness, and poise with which you played the game are forever ingrained in my family's Michigan football memories.
We wish you the best at whatever you next choose to do in life.
Thank you, #16.
