A good story in light of today (but not about today)

I am still smarting from the loss today much of which stems from how we could not make MSU pay dearly for their less than sportsmanlike gameplan.  In light of that, I saw this article about Jason Avant (yes, I am an Eagles fan) about his upbringing and his incredible character and resilience.

It is uplifting to see alumni like Avant making a statement with actions and few words that makes me proud to be a Wolverine.  Just something to give perspective about the character of people who come through this program, win or lose.

That story about Avant shows true character and class, as opposed to Kirk Cousins, for whom it is easy to talk about privilege, because that's all he (Cousins) has had his entire life. I'm glad Avant is doing well, much better than how Worthy, Gholston and that pathetic excuse for a team will ever do.

but your comment is just ignorant.  Character is character no matter if you have money or not.  Everyone has there cross to bear and to point out Cousins is ridiculous.  You have no clue.  He is good man even though he is the opponent.

I will take his character over yours any day.  He is beyond charitable and I would be damn proud if he was my kid.

I think his point is valid. Cousins and people from his background have it easier and it is easier for them to be magnanimous. It's a fact.  A guy like Avant learned his lessons in a lot harder school of life. That's not attacking Cousins. It's pointing out an obvious difference in light of that preachy speech he gave to the adoring old rich white guy power brokers at the Big Ten media day.
